The middle gorund Essay

the opportunity, two writers in The Blair Reader will square off for a battle to the death.

Why can’t we all just get along?

You’re going to write a 1,500 word essay striking middle ground between two Blair Reader essays that just don’t get along.

Divide your essay into roughly five parts.

1. which two essays are you getting in the middle of? What’s the issue at stake, and what’s each author’s position?
2. Tell your audience all about the first essay. What’s the Thesis? where’s the evidence?
3. Do the same thing for the second essay.
4. Now, reflecting an appreciation of both sides of the argument, play nice. Strike middle ground with a thesis statement of your own. Finally, use research from two research articles from Academic search complete to bolster your argument.
5. The MLA works Cited page.

World literature

the following prompt in an essay of 3-4 typed pages.
Cite all quotes from the texts you use in-text and in a Works Cited page using MLA format.

Prompt:

What gives meaning to our lives? What should we dedicate our lives to?

Many of our early readings answer one of both of these questions. How do you answer it?

Choose two of our readings from the first seven weeks of class, and write an essay in which you do four things: Confucius and Taoism

Analyze and state how each of the works you chose answers one or both of these questions.
In order to do this well, you will have to use examples and quotes from both works that support your analysis.

Provide your own answer to the question(s).
Support your answer with some kind of evidence for why you answered the question that way. This evidence could be from your own experience, from the bible or another religious text.
Compareand find something in common.
As you conclude your paper, think hard about ways in which you and the authors you chose might agree and disagree on aspects of your answers. Articulate what those aspects are.
FinallySO WHAT? Once youve figured out what you all have in common, answer the so what? question. Why does it matter that you have some areas of agreement with these authors? Will it change anything about how you live or think? If so, what?

Audience Analysis

Audience Analysis

Identifying your audience is critical when writing any kind of document; we never speak the same way to a professor as we do a parent, sibling, political official, or a child. Knowing your audience and their needs is critical in academic writing; it informs what you need to include in your paper, what you may need to be careful of, and what things you may not need to include.
For this exercise, think of your rhetorical analysis and answer the following questions:
1. Who is your audience for this paper? Professionals in the field? The layperson? The academic community?

2. How much would you expect your audience to know about your topic?

3. What information will your audience definitely not know about your topic?

4. Do you think your audience will agree with you? Disagree? Will they be indifferent? Will you need to be convincing at any point, and why?

‘Choose one of the challenges that you identified in assessment 1. Provide a literature review of management strategies that could be used to respond to this challenge taking care to consider strategic as well as operational level strategies’.

one of the challenges that you identified in assessment 1. Provide a literature review of management strategies that could be used to respond to this challenge taking care to consider strategic as well as operational level strategies’.
30% – i.e. 30 marks

Review the document ‘What is a literature review’. (contained in Week 6 content)

Expectation:

• Clearly identify the ‘issue’ or ‘challenge’ you have chosen
• Identify the key principles of the ‘issue/challenge’
• What are the trends, theories, history of the ‘issue/challenge’
• Make a critical analysis of the literature – i.e. identify gaps between literature and your view
• Ensure that you include a clear and concise reference to the literature you are considering
• Discuss your given hypotheses in the context of the literature/reference
• Include an introduction, main text and conclusion.

Consider
– Is the issue internal or external to an aged care provider?
– What might managements’ strategic position be?
– What might managements’ operational position be?
– What are the implications of the identified ‘issue’ for the aged care service provider from your point of view (good, bad, indifferent, or otherwise)

Reflective Essay

In a 2-page informal reflection essay, explain how you can use presentation skills and knowledge of yourself and your goals, intentions, and current actions and activities to better address your coursework and your current job or career. Why is it important to actively think about presenting yourself, your goals, and your current situation to employers, friends, and others? How do you build on where you are now to strengthen your argument for yourself?

As you reflect in preparation for writing your essay, the following are some things to ask yourself:
How did you use situational awareness (rapport, self-confidence, and awareness) during your presentation?
From observing others present themselves, how did that impact your thoughts about self-awareness, reflective practice, and the need to synthesize and present both your discipline knowledge as well as your own professional capabilities?
How did you follow up with the audience during or after the presentation?
Why is follow-up important in any presentation situation?
What else will you do in future situations?

Part B

Social media is an important networking resource and continues to evolve as a tool for self-presentation. Comp questions EDD

question 1 is designed to help you demonstrate your ability to present specialization knowledge through integration and synthesis of relevant theory and conceptual principles. You are expected to demonstrate comprehension and critical thinking using the body of knowledge attained in the fundamental and specialization coursework you have taken.

Using a minimum of five peer-reviewed articles from your specialization (for instance Education Leadership, Organizational Leadership, eLearning, Curriculum and Teaching, etc.), compare and contrast at least three theories applicable to your specialization.

Using one of the theories discussed above, select five additional peer-reviewed sources and explain how the theory adds or may add to the understanding of your specialization. You should also include a discussion of any controversy or unanswered questions related to the theory.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Compose a theoretically sound and conceptually rich essay demonstrating your knowledge of fundamental subject areas in your academic discipline and specialization.

?
Question 2: Practical Application

For question 2, you are required to discuss the application of relevant theory and research to real life situations, considering social, cultural, and ethical issues as appropriate. You are expected to compose responses solving specific problems and discuss implications of your ideas for application with a broad range of issues in the field.

Referencing at least five peer-reviewed journal articles, respond to the following questions:

How can a theory guide or inform practice?

What are the issues involved in translating theory into practice?

Identify at least an additional five peer-reviewed articles (published in the last 5 years) and address how one of the theories you discussed in question 1 has actually been applied. Consider, for example:

Are the applications premised upon an accurate understanding of the theory and its scope?

Do the applications “go beyond” what the theory claims?

Is the reasoning linking application and theory sound?

Learning Outcomes:
3. Apply relevant theory and research from the specialization coursework to real life situations to solve specific problems and discusses implications.

?
Question 3: Research

For question 3, you will need to demonstrate the ability to employ research methods used within your specialization. You are expected to critique research methodologies used by scholar-practitioners and compose responses identifying best practices in educational research.

Select five empirical articles from peer-reviewed journals you consider critical to your understanding of your specialization and:

1. Describe each study, including:

The research problem, questions, or hypotheses
 The research purpose
The type of design and elements of the design (e.g., sample, data analysis, operationalization of constructs)
Threats to validity and if and how addressed
 The findings and implications
Note if the article makes a compelling case for the meaning and significance of the findings

2. Select one of the five articles above. Using the article, assess how you might conduct the research study differently. Address:

 The research questions
 The research purpose
Type of design and elements of the design (e.g., sample, the type of data you need to collect and how you will collect it, data analysis)
The strengths and weaknesses of your envisioned design and methods
Quantitative: threats to validity and how your design will address them
Quantitative: the constructs you will measure and what you will do in order to determine how to operationalize them (you do not need to identify specific measures)
Qualitative: your means of ensuring the quality of your findings
Justification for why your chosen design and methods are more appropriate for your research question than alternatives you have considered
 Your methods of data analysis
How the data you collect will enable you to answer your research question and contribute to theory

Learning Outcomes
2. Critique existing research and design a methodologically sound approach to research in the academic specialization(s).
?
