The authors of this text Morrison and Furlong (2014) provide an overview and explanation why a foundation in healthcare theory and principles is important for providers of care in various roles and health care systems. They acknowledge that the changes in the way the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) 0f 2010 is premised is changing health care in this country highlighting that; “health care will receive even more scrutiny and must provide high-quality, patient-centered, researched-based care with fewer or different types of resources.” Attention will be focused on how care is provided as well as the costs associated with care, and you as a manager will be responsible for various services in your organization.
Please discuss why you should have a foundation in ethics if you are involved in health care? And

2.5 DISSERTATION FORMAT AND SUBMISSION:
You should submit TWO hard copies of your dissertation, to the GEDS office in room G01 32 Tavistock Square by 6 pm on the submission date noted above. These should be bound in some way, but ring binding is sufficient.
You should also upload your dissertation to Moodle. For this you should note that you will have to have your dissertation as a single word or pdf file.
At the front of your dissertation you must include:
• A title page, setting out:
• The title of your dissertation
• Your name
• The degree for which you are studying
• Your place of study (Birkbeck College, University of London)
• The date of submission
• A plagiarism declaration: “I certify that the work submitted is my own and that I have duly acknowledged any quotation from the published or unpublished work of other persons”, followed by your signature and date
• Approximate number of words (excluding any material in appendices, etc.)
• A contents page
• A list of figures, tables and photos
Please note that the text should be typed 1.5-spaced, minimum 11 font size, on one side only of A4 paper, with a minimum 2.5 cm margin on either side; and with illustrated material on paper the same size as the typescript, folded if necessary (separate loose maps and diagrams are not accepted).

An analysis of GE by using Six Sigma operation management tools

 
1，Essay is divided into five parts:

① INTRODUCTION
a. Briefly explain the environment and competitive priorities of the operation. You might want to use a performance objectives map showing required and actual performance, as well as perhaps the performance of comparable / competing processes. Keep it brief.

b. The introduction should do so using, where possible Operations Management frameworks, language etc. The introduction has to quickly inform the reader about the operations’ task. Briefly explain the operations challenges or problems that you are going to analyse. Why is the operation of interest? Don’t provide loads of background information.

②，Methodology
a. What theory, tools, techniques and concepts are you going to apply in your analysis, and why? ( Total Quantity Management, Six sigma operation tool)
You do not need to justify process mapping per se, as it is a requirement of the brief that you create a process map. However, there are many different types of process map and you should justify your choice amongst these options. You explain how you will use the process map.
b. The method section also briefly explains how you will apply your selected Operations Management material.

③ Analysis
