How does mainstream media in Australia affect how the public view racial minorities.

Research Question: define your research question. What is the thesis or argument you want to put forward? What is the critical issue you want to address?
Project Rationale: Relate your project to the present state of knowledge in the field. Why is this project important and why now? Contextualise your project’s critical issue historically, culturally, theoretically.
Methodology: What methodology or methodologies are you going to use? You may use any of the methodologies we have studied or you may choose one not covered this semester in consultation with your tutor. Defend its utility for your topic, examine other texts that have dealt with similar subject areas in a similar way (you may like to extend a few entries from your annotated bibliography). Include any practical steps you may need to take (e.g. gaining access to media archives, creating survey questions for ethnographic research, etc).

Legal Aspects of Health Care-2

Module 2 Assignment: book- Legal and Ethical Essentials of Health Care Administration. Second Edition by George D. Pozgar
Make sure that you save a copy of the case (i.e., copy and paste into Word for future reference) and bookmark the location, as you will use this same case in your final assignment announced in Module 5.
HSC 4640 – Legal Aspects of Health Care

Liability in medicine has often been described as the practitioner’s legal responsibility to their patient. Further, practitioners are liable for their actions and can be held accountable for their actions. This responsibility to patients can vary depending on the individual practitioner and the setting in which they practice.
The following website is from the State of Florida, Department of Health, Medical Quality Assurance Office and allows the public to search through disciplinary proceedings that have been previously ruled upon.

This website has a dropdown menu for all licensed medical professionals in the state of Florida. If you live outside of the state of Florida, your state should have a system that is similar. The case that you select must come from a state licensing board.
In a paper of 600 – 800 words, select a case that has been previously ruled upon. You can select any profession that is licensed in the state ( Florida) in which you reside. In addition to your textbook, your paper must include a minimum of three sources, one of which will be the website from which you retrieved the case. Make sure that your paper includes:

1.• How is licensure related to liability?
2.• What does it mean to be a licensed health care provider?
3.• What is liability and why was the provider in this case liable for their actions – what did they do (or not do) to have this case brought against them?
4.• Did the case you selected involve criminal law or civil (tort) law?
5.• What was the resolution of this case and how could this resolution affect providers in the future?

Module2 will cover three main topics: torts, contracts, and liability. Using a short case vignette, you will analyze whether a tort occurred and if so, would it be considered intentional or unintentional (negligence). We will learn about contracts and how a contract is established in health care. In your required readings for this module, you will discover how arbitration agreements and liability may affect the care that is provided to your patients. This new knowledge will then be applied to your weekly assignment on liability and licensure.

Proposal Outline

Proposal Outline
Due: Sunday October 18th @ 11:59 p.m.

You will complete this assignment in groups of two (or three). You and your partner will create a proposal that will identify the:

Problem in your company,
Company background,
Three possible options to resolve the problem,
Estimated staffing, timeline and budget needs to complete an analytical report NOT to implement the solutions (if approved).
Finally, you will be required to request authorization to complete an analytical report.
Remember, you are identifying a problem at a chosen company, proposing at least three possible solutions to address that problem, providing an estimated cost for researching the solutions, and finally requesting to analyze the possible solutions in the form of an analytical report. The problem should be related to a technology or technical process that is used at the company.

Your proposal outline is to be written as if you are currently working in the company. It should provide your workplace supervisor (use your TA) with a clear sense of the purpose, direction and content of the proposed analytical report. The proposal outline will not make a recommendation. You are encouraged to identify possible options in the proposal but to actually make a recommendation in the proposal, prior to completing your research, would be premature and call into question your professional judgment.

The outline of your proposal should be no more than 250 words in length. Word count does not include your “front matter” (e.g. title page, table of contents) or your “back matter” (e.g. bibliography and appendices.) In addition, word count will not include any text that is represented in a table of graph.

The bibliography will be a list of the sources you used in your research. You MUST properly cite in the text where you use your sources. You must use a minimum of two of the following types of sources:
Note: All engineering students will use IEEE citation format. All other students will use APA citation form

Final Proposal

your Formal Proposal should contain the following:
• Be formatted as a formal proposal, following the guidelines for formal proposals in the text (including the guidelines for headings and subheadings found on pages 426-439).
• Include required front matter (Title Page and Transmittal Correspondence) and end matter (References).
• Include an Introduction (first-level heading) with four second-level headings of fully developed text: Background of the Problem, Statement of Purpose, Sources of Methods, and Report Organization.
• Fully explain the “green” strategy you are proposing. (The word count for the introduction and body should be 1250-1750 words). The Discussion will have the following second-level headings:

Solution and Benefits: Identify your solution and discuss its benefits. Include a visual.
Cost: This section should include individual costs to the organization, but may also include any cost savings that may be realized. Include a table to help readers visualize what is presented in this section.
Conclusion and Recommendation: Review the issues that led to the proposed solution and clearly state the recommendation you want the reader to implement.
• Conclude with a brief statement that expresses a positive sentiment or statement.
• Include References page (at least six credible sources in APA format). Include appendices (if applicable).
• Include two visuals: a figure that helps explain the recommended green strategy and a table under the Cost section that clearly represents the data being explained. Visual aids and their inclusion must adhere to the standards presented
• Use at least six credible researched sources appropriately and effectively.
• Include proper documentation using APA style (in-text citations and References page); please check your work using the Dropbox/Turnitin.com.
• Be free of spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
A successful Formal Proposal will include the following:
• The revised (as indicated by the professor in the Week 6 graded assignment) Introduction section and organization of the report.
• The Introduction includes all four sections with fully developed original text appropriate for each section.
• Evidence the writer fully grasps the purpose/goals of the proposal assignment, including selecting the appropriate organizational approach.
• Body of proposal is properly formatted, with at least two heading levels.
• Well-developed content that is written in the student’s own words (Introduction and Body of the report should be between 1250-1750 words).
• Sufficient research material to support ideas.
• Two visual aids (one figure and one table), properly placed, referenced, and cited.
• Direct quotes and/or paraphrases of outside material that are properly integrated into the text and cited (in-text and end-of text) per APA guidelines.
• A References page that lists at least six credible sources.
• Proper use of formatting and style (e.g., bullets, headings, lists, etc.).
• An awareness and proper use of all 10 writing conventions for professional writing.
• Use of proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization; written in third person.

Research impact of Burglary

Identify three different peer-reviewed journal articles that have made a *direct* substantial contribution to our understanding of:

· The occurrence of this crime phenomenon

· The effectiveness of a crime control measure used to prevent (including detect) this crime phenomenon

· The ethical impact of a crime control measure used to prevent (including detect) this crime phenomenon

For each of them provide the APA reference, and write a paragraph introducing the research question that was addressed, and explaining why the results could have an impact on crime prevention practice.

*Note about the meaning of the term ‘direct contribution’: the invention of the computer made a substantial contribution to our understanding of the effectiveness of the TASER because performance of the required statistical tests involves using computers. However, this is a tangential contribution (not a direct one) and therefore papers about the invention of the computer would not be considered within the scope of the question.

2. Review how social inequalities are generated, experienced and maintained and their impact on health status and life chances of individuals, groups and societies
3. Explain how key theorists and perspectives address health, social inequalities and social problems

Essay question- Analyse the Marxist understanding of social class and discuss its implications for understanding society

Use the Marxist theory throughout the essay and compare and contrast with other theories (Emile Durkheim’s theory and Max Weber’s theory)

Main Body
• Introduce Karl Marx, explain who he is.

Capitalism would be the first topic to analyse, so explain capitalism and Karl Marx’ belief in capitalism, what he thinks about capitalism and effects he believes it has on society.
Under capitalism, discuss:
• Class antagonism and why it is in society
• Class consciousness
• Alienation
• Poverty
• Social inequality
• Lower class and upper class
• Bourgeoisie and proletariat
• Surplus value
• Exploitation
• Patriarchy
• What does Marx believe about why labourers put up with exploitation from the capitalists
• Polarization, homogenization and pauperization of workers
• Also analyse Marxist feminism and effects it has on society. Compare and contrast with other types of feminism such as liberal feminism, radical feminism and post-modern feminism.

Compare and contrast the Marxist understanding of social class and Emile Durkheim’s understanding of social class. Under this, discuss:
• Collective consciousness
• Division of labour
• The two types of solidarity (organic and mechanical) and relate them to both theories (Marx and Durkheim)

Compare and contrast Marx and Weber in terms of ‘bureaucracy’ and ‘mcdonalidization’.

• Discuss the implications of Marx’ understanding of social class and the impact it has on society.
Conclusion

The conclusion should include:
• Discuss if society is really the way Marx believes it to be and if his theory has changed overtime.
