Describe how the organisation under investigation has or could implement the appropriate ITIL Service Transition Processes. This should ideally focus on the current Release and Deployment structures in place but especially in relation to the following:

• Describe how the organisation has implemented Service Transitions processes;
• Describe the current tools used in the organisation;
• How does it compare to an IT Service Management proposed structure?
• Identify areas that have not been implemented;
• Assess and evaluate the success of the implementation;
• Specify the advantages the organisation has/is likely to gain and any negative outcomes that have been brought about by the implementation;
• After the evaluation draw up conclusions and a set of recommendations for the organisation that would help them align themselves more successfully with IT Service Management practices.

• Describe how the organisation could implement the processes and the likely outcome of such changes current structure. Describe commonly used software tools which could be available to facilitate the solution;
• How does the existing structure compare to an IT Service Management proposed structure?
• Identify areas for development including a timescale;
• Assess and evaluate the likely success of the implementation if an IT Service Management solution is implemented;
• Specify the advantages the organisation is likely to gain and any negative outcomes that could be brought about by the implementation;
• After the evaluation students should draw up conclusions and a set of recommendations for the organisation that would help them align themselves more successfully with IT Service Management practices.

Please note

As part of your individual weekly commitment to Live Projects you are expected to write a couple of paragraphs each week, reflecting on the skills gained and gaps in skills identified and steps that you will take to rectify your gaps. This will contribute towards the 2,000 word reflective account of your development / growth over the period of semester 1.

This learning log will contribute to your individual report. Your tutor will periodically ask to see a copy of your weekly logbook, so it is advisable to maintain it regularly, so that you are prepared. This can be placed in the appendix section of your 2,000 word reflective report (The Individual Report should use the reflection from the weekly logbook to compile the report on progress over the semester)

The report should not exceed 2,500 words in total, and should include the following:

Ten submissions of weekly logs, submitted on Wednesday 8th January by 4pm,2013. Hand in method TBC.

Evidence of peer assessment, highlight personal contribution and team contribution, approx 400-500 additional words Up to 10 marks available

Lab report

A lab report presents the findings of a paper that you have studied. It is a common paper in the sciences where you are required to step into a laboratory and justify the information you have on a certain subject.
