Leadership Credibility
Credibility is essential to effective, transformational leadership: from resolving various critical issues and problems that organizational leaders face to developing a passionate constituency who will follow and be stimulated by a collective vision. A key element of this credibility is integrity, which is rooted in self-knowledge and understanding (and a key tenant of servant and transformational leadership!).
In serving a purpose, leaders strengthen credibility by demonstrating that they are not in it for themselves; instead, they have the interests of the institution, department, or team and its constituents at heart. Being a servant may not be what many leaders had in mind when they choose to take responsibility for the vision and direction of their organization or team, but serving others is the most glorious and rewarding of all leadership tasks. (Kouzes & Posner, 2003, p. 185). How do you, as an emerging leader, develop and engender credibility and a transformational relational approach amongst your constituency?
Support your statements with evidence from the required studies and your research. Cite and reference your sources in APA style.

The advancement of leadership and the development of leaders seem to concentrate more on training through investigation of theory or literature. According to this week’s article, why is this ineffective? Evaluate the appropriateness of such a training focus. Based on your other readings, what other elements may be included to increase the self-knowledge and effectiveness of leadership?

Ethical Leadership Report
You have been asked by the MD to provide a report on how the company can ensure it is operating ethically. You will need to evaluate the company’s systems and processes and look at how an ethical culture can be established.
1. Evaluate the conceptual underpinning of ethical leadership and how the concepts can be used in decision making [25%]
2. Critically consider approaches to developing the systems and culture of ethical business [25%]
3. Propose, develop and provide an appropriate justification for an intervention which will make a difference to an organisation’s ethical behaviours specifically considering the leadership role utilising appropriate referencing conventions [50%]

Assessment Brief for coursework 1

The first coursework (worth 20% of the total marks for the module) is an INDIVIDUAL piece of work (maximum 2,000 words) excluding final list of references. Please note there is no plus or minus 10% rule on this module), critically appraising some of the theoretical concepts and techniques introduced in the lectures in weeks 1-7.

Write an essay answering the following question:

Critically evaluate how useful the undertaking of a “strategic position” analysis may be for an organisation? Critically discuss the view that the market/environment should be emphasised more than resources when an organisation is undertaking a “strategic position” analysis.

Word count-The only words that do not countin your essay are the front page (on which you put your srn, name of the module, word count, title of the coursework, my name as module leader) and the end of essay list of references (using Harvard system of referencing).You are NOT allowed to have an appendix. Re the WORD COUNT and other issues you must read the section below entitled “Guidance for completing BOTH coursework’s/key information for the module”. That section gives the regulations for this c/w 1 re the word count (eg issues concerning words/numbers in “diagrams” etc.).

Your work will be marked and graded in accordance with the grading and marking criteria for assignment one (see pages 15, 16, 17 below).
Coursework 1 (electronic copy) should be handed in on 4th December 2015 at 11.00pm (latest time). An identical paper copy (you must attach and fill in the form entitled “Hertfordshire Business School-Assessment Feedback Form”. Do not fill in your name but do put your SRN, the name of the module, the title of the coursework (“coursework 1”), the date and my name on it) must be handed in at the coursework point on the bottom floor of the Business School (opposite M036) on the 5th December (11am latest hand in time). Closer to the hand in date precise details will be given if there will be a special box provided for this module or whether or not you put the paper copy in a generic box.

Before you begin crafting your discussion response for this week, be sure to read required materials and watch Episode Two of the Designing Healthy Communities PBS miniseries. These episodes are designed to work with the readings to give you a broad understanding of the topics that we discuss in class.

Take a look at the importance of strong leadership and planning in both Charleston and Elgin and answer the following questions:
•Who were the important players, or partners, in these cities?
•How did their leadership succeed?
•How did their leadership fail?
•What were the long-term goals for each city’s revival?
•Describe your thoughts on the successes and failures in both cities.

Now, choose a city other than Charleston and Elgin and discuss how your chosen city might benefit from the lessons learned in Elgin and Charleston.

In your response, be sure to identify: 1) your chosen city, 2) a leadership issue(s) in that city and the time period in which it (they) occurred (can be a current issue, too), 3) the leadership involved in the issue, and 4) how the lessons learned in Elgin and Charleston relate to these issues.

State your chosen city at the beginning of your post. Try to choose a city that is different from that used by your classmates. Post your response by Thursday and comment on at least two other students’ posts by Sunday night.

 
REQUIREMENTS:
1. The paper will be graded on quality of information, use of citations, and use of Standard English grammar, sentence structure, and organization, based on the required components.
2. Create the assignment using Microsoft (MS) Word, which is the required format for all Chamberlain documents. You can tell that the document is saved as a MS Word document because it will end in “.docx.”
3. Submit to the CCN Dropbox by 11:59 p.m. MT Sunday of Week 5. Any questions about this paper may be discussed in the weekly Q & A Discussion topic.
4. The length of the paper is to be no greater than three (3) pages, excluding title page and reference page. Extra pages WILL NOT be read by the instructor and WILL NOT count toward your grade.
5. Please name your file using the Required File-Naming Protocol for Submission of Assignments under Policies.
6. APA format (6th edition) is required in this assignment including a title page and reference page. Use APA level 1 headings for the organizational structure of this assignment. Remember that the introduction does not carry a heading that labels it as a level heading in APA format. The first part of your paper is assumed to be the introduction. See APA manual for details.

4. Provide specific examples of the impact your ethical issue has to nursing and/or importance on nursing.
5. Concluding statements should summarize the overall content of your paper.

my group topic is Applying Leadership style and my chair meeting time is 26-11-2015
-from my group members they think i can do my work well.
– my group have one group members are missing, so for his part we do it together

-second meeting we just have three people, the meeting content is we divide four part for the hold topic, and i choose the second part :’ situational variables
