Public Service System Flyer

A Comparison of the Management of Physical and Human Resources in Different Sectors

are employed as a researcher for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the UK. Funding has been provided for a study of resource management in business. The aim is to compare the management of physical and human resources in different sectors.
Your role is to carry out research into profiled businesses representing different sectors. You will then choose a specific business to carry out further research.
Your research findings will be presented in a report.
You will find brief profiles of three businesses in Appendix 1. You need to carry out supplementary research into similar businesses to ensure detailed findings.

Task 1
The first part of your report consists of an analysis of the differing resource requirements of the three profiled businesses. This must be followed by an outline of the key requirements that businesses in different sectors must consider when managing resources.

Task 2
In this part of the report, you should explain the importance of the effective use of physical resources by providing
• an evaluation of how the use of physical resources is monitored and managed

Informed Consent

Topic:
Imzagine that you are the lead researcher at a pharmaceuticals laboratory. You have just discovered a new pill that has the potential to cure Type 1 diabetes in human beings. A five-year randomized controlled study using chimpanzees found that diabetes was cured in the animals who took a daily dose of 500mg of your new drug, DIA123. Specifically, the research found that:
•After two years of taking 500mg of DIA123, diabetes was no longer an issue among 78% of the chimps, and they no longer needed insulin injections.
•The dosage was decreased to 250mg for year three, and the diabetes never returned.
•DIA123 was eliminated in years four and five, and the diabetes never returned.
•No additional exercise or dietary restrictions aided in the study. Therefore, the analysis strongly supported the hypothesis that DIA123 was the primary cause of the elimination of diabetes.

While the diabetes issue was eliminated, the research discovered a few side effects:
•2% of the chimps suffered from moderate to severe diarrhea, which started within a month of taking the pills. This led to the possibility of dehydration, so careful monitoring of liquids was necessary.
•15% of the chimps suffered from excessive heart palpitations during the three years taking DIA123. Due to the length of the study, the long-term impacts of these heart palpitations are unknown.
•18% of the chimps suffered from a loss of libido, which did not dissipate after discontinuing DIA123 in years four and five.
•25% of the chimps suffered from mild depression while taking DIA123 during years one through three. The depression dissipated for approximately half of the chimps after discontinuing DIA123 in years four and five, but continued for the other half.

Because of the public health implications of such a drug, the Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration approved a new five-year study with the use of male and female human subjects ages 18 to 55. An experiment will be done with humans that is identical to the one conducted with the chimpanzees. The participants will not receive any remuneration for their participation, which is fully voluntary.

The purpose of this assignment is for you to develop a project that advances the knowledge base of clients and/or staff, or the clinical practice base of those working ion the cardiac unit. This assignment consists of two parts 1) the actual presentation of information to the target audience and 2) a summary scholarly paper addressing all aspects of the project. This project is to be germane to the clinical setting and based on current scholarly evidence.

The knowledge advancement project has four critical components: a knowledge needs assessment; a plan based on the needs assessment findings; implementation of the plan; and an evaluation of the plan’s effectiveness.

Begin by brainstorming about needs for increased knowledge in your clinical practice area, including clients and/or staff or the clinical practice base of those working in the area. (RECOGNIZING DELIRIUM IN OUR CARDIAC PATIENTS)
Conduct a formal needs assessment on your chosen knowledge deficit topic. This needs assessment can take the form of a literature review, a survey of the key players (clients, staff, and/or professional specialty association), or a review of current resources on the topic.

The outcome of the needs assessment must be clearly articulated and supported with your assessment research and scholarly references.

Plan a strategy to address the knowledge deficit for the target audience. Include your overall goals, specific learning objectives, content, and method of content delivery in your plan. Document your goals, objectives and content outline. Choose a delivery method that best fits the needs, goals, objectives and content you identified. Provide rationale for the chosen delivery method in your plan based on scholarly references.

Implement your plan. Deliver your content to the target audience. This includes setting the date, time, and place for your implementation, as well as preparing all of the resources you will need to deliver the content.

Evaluate the effectiveness of your plan implementation. Choose an evaluation strategy that matches your chosen implementation method. Support your choice of evaluation strategy with scholarly references.

I spoke with the 2 clinical educators on the unit to conduct the formal assessment. I also witnessed not being able to reconized the delirium in patients but focusing on the cardiac diagnosis.
