*You have been invited by the NASPA to present a talk at its annual national conference. NASPA is the leading association for the advancement, health, and sustainability of the student affairs profession (www.naspa.org). The organizers would like you to speak on the following topic: “How Student Development Theory Informs Practice.”
prepare for a talk answer the following:
1. Identifies one of the major student development theories discussed in the Pascarella, E.T., & Terenzini, P.T. (2005) text.
2. Discusses the essential elements of the theory including:
a. The history of the theory;
b. The methodology of the research conducted;
c. The findings of the research conducted to develop the theory; and
d. The theoretical model constructed.
3. Discusses the theory’s application and limitations and provide an example of how the theory has been successfully applied at a specific college or university.
