ERP Systems Implementation & Analysis

Your work needs to be presented as a report which should be produced using a word processor. It must have a table of contents, and a title page containing your name and student Id.
In the task you are expected to read related literature and provide your analysis and evaluation based on both the analysed case-study and the review of your reading. Please note that the bulleted questions are indicative only. You are free to extend your analysis to any relevant aspect of the case-study and to cover different or additional aspects (with suitable justification).
1. ERP system implementation and evaluation based on case study
CarParts is a middle-sized company manufacturing different small, spare parts for the automotive industry. Their headquarters are in London, and have three manufacturing units, two in India and one in China. The company employs over 400 people. They do not sell their products directly to consumers, only to large manufacturers and wholesalers. Their regular buyers include several car manufacturers worldwide, and also a large UK based retail chain. Their suppliers are mainly smaller businesses located close to their manufacturing units.
CarParts has no integrated ERP solution at the moment. However, they do have an inventory and order processing system that was developed in-house several years ago and utilizes a central Oracle-based database. Their central HR department has also introduced the SAP Human Resources module recently.
It was the company’s desire for continuous improvement that led to the decision to upgrade to a comprehensive integrated ERP system in the near future. A major issue at CarParts is eliminating the duplication of information. Using their non-integrated and non-interoperable software packages and databases led to confusion and time and paper wastage over the past years.
Another important priority for the company is better integration with their major suppliers and largest buyers. Although the company already has a Web presence, they are planning replacing the current Website with a more dynamic site offering e-business capabilities.
CarParts is planning to join a large vertical e-marketplace that could provide them with additional opportunities on the procurement side. They hope to extend their procurement worldwide resulting in lower prices and better quality products. They are also planning to set-up a company B2B website (on the sell side) that could result in widening opportunities regarding their sales. Their short-term goal is to sell their products not only to UK based retail chains but also in Europe and Worldwide.

– Analyse the advantages/disadvantages of introducing an ERP solution for “CarParts”. Why is it crucial to have a functioning ERP system before opening towards e-business?
– Outline a business/action plan for the company concerning ERP introduction. Suggest necessary functional modules, select and evaluate possible ERP vendor solutions, estimate cost and benefits and outline a project plan. How the system can be extended with an e-business channel? What e-business strategy and solutions can the company select?

Public Policy Budget Presentation

Create a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation, of 3 slides, including speaker notes, in which you complete the following:

•Describe fiscal federalism in the agency (NY Department of homeless services quality) at the state and local levels where the policy is being implemented.
Format your presentation consistent with APA guidelines

Organizing Presentations

Even the most superficial of presentations calls for some kind of preparation. An “elevator speech,” which summarizes a topic in minutes, if not seconds, calls for lightning thought and reflexive application of the rhetorical triangle, grammar, outlining, content knowledge, and logic as you are standing there. For more elaborate and considered presentations, you should reflect on your topic and on the implications and potential for your message. If presenting yourself, you want to be seen as a mature professional and in the best light. If presenting discipline-related material, you want to be seen as a mature and reflective professional, who has not only laid out a mechanical and logical outline of the material, but who has linked the material, with meaning, to the audience.

For this Individual Project, you will create a sentence outline for a presentation and informally share your ideas for approaching the visual elements of a presentation.

Using your thoughts from earlier in the course and your elevator speech ideas, create a sentence outline for a 10-minute presentation about a discipline-related topic in which you propose a small project or professional action to an audience of mid-level executives.

The outline should indicate the flow and content for your anticipated presentation.

Incorporate an introduction of yourself, and link your background, experience, goals, and education to the topic. Imagine that the audience has not met you or that they do not know you very well. Assume that your own strengths and abilities, including your university studies, will be key and important to the success of your proposal for the project. Be sure the outline reflects solid organization and process.

In Unit 4, you will give a final presentation based on this outline, so be sure to provide enough information for future use. Therefore, use a sentence outline format rather than simply jotting down one- or two-word topics.
Deliverable Length: Outline: 1-2 pages; Visual plan: 1-2 paragraphs

The Community Action Plan: Written Report and Slide Presentation

Your Portfolio Project for this class is a community action plan designed to alleviate or correct a public-health issue in your community. Your community can be your business, school, neighborhood, town or city of residence or birth, or county.

For Option 1, your community action plan will be a professional portfolio that includes a written report and a slide presentation.

Below are some useful sites where you can find examples of the elements of an action plan.
You will incorporate into this final plan any classmates’ critiques that you found useful as well as your instructor’s feedback.

1.The written report should include:

•The final case study, with four sections (Symptoms, Diagnosis, Cure, and Prevention). Each section should be about a page in length. Your entire paper must be 4-5 pages in length not counting the title or reference pages, which you must include. Your paper must follow theCSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.
•You must back up your sections using at least two scholarly articles. You may use readings other than the textbook to meet this requirement.
•The key community members or partners that you plan on contacting, with an explanation why these individuals or organizations make sense as potential partners. This could include your list of potential partners created in the Week 4 Critical Thinking Assignment Option #1, or your interview of one key partner completed in the Week 4 Critical Thinking Assignment Option #2.
•A special emphasis on either the demographics of the affected population or the economic implications, depending on what Critical Thinking Assignment you completed for Week 5.
•A realistic timeline for your plan. Discuss the time needed for campaigning, education, funding, building, and implementation. Use ideas created during Week 6 Critical Thinking Assignments, either the option for an annotated bibliography or that for the brainstorming draft feedback.

2.The slide presentation describes the problem in your community and your action plan.

•Your presentation must be 8-10 slides in length, not counting the title and reference slides.
•You may use a Web-based slide presentation software such as Prezi, for example, or you may use PowerPoint. If you use a Web-based tool, include the URL to your presentation in a Word document and upload it with your presentation.
•The audience for this presentation will be community members or organizations you wish to educate about the public-health issue and your proposed plan. The purpose of this slide presentation is to educate the audience about the issue. Keep in mind that in real life you will have limited time to convince people of the gravity of the situation and to come on board with their support, so you want to be persuasive and get to the key points quickly and effectively.

Branding Strategies PowerPoint

Then create a bullet point PowerPoint presentation comparing and contrasting the branding strategies of the two companies.

The presentation will be graded for critical analysis of the content.

The presentation will also be graded on the elements of a quality presentation included in Chapters 3, 6, and 7: arrangement, use of backgrounds, color and text, and diagrams.

Use the Branding Strategies rubric provided in the course materials to ensure you have met all of the criteria
