How does what we see in the sky compare with our current knowledge of the Galaxy’s structure?

Use your SkyGazer software to help you plan another observation. This time when you go outside, look for the plane of the Milky Way in the sky (you may have to make a special trip to somewhere relatively dark to be successful). Then, in a 2-3 paragraph essay, describe what you saw, and compare it to what you think ancient people would have seen. Would you have called it “the Milky Way,” or might you have chosen a different name? How does what we see in the sky compare with our current knowledge of the Galaxy’s structure?

Assignment Steps

Interview someone you know who is in a management role. This can be at your current place of employment or someone you know personally working in a managerial role.

Prepare a 1,050-word discussion of the interview:

  • Discuss what you discovered about contingency planning.
  • Discuss how creativity and critical thinking relate to contingency planning.
  • Explain how you might integrate creativity into your own planning process.
  • Discuss what you learned about creativity and its relationship to the decision-making process.
  • Identify the key steps that might require a contingency plan.

What is the difference between Op-Amp circuit and Comparator circuit?

The purpose of this lab is to learn to use MultiSIM to construct and simulate oscillator circuits. Two oscillator circuits will be constructed and the effect of feedback resistance will be investigated in order to produce oscillation. Students will be asked to extend the concepts presented in order to modify the given circuit to allow for a variable output frequency. 1. Watch the video Week 6 – Oscillator Circuit 2. Read the section 11.3 and construct the two oscillator circuits in Figure 11.3 from the textbook and simulate the circuits. 3. Use the Agilent oscilloscope to observe the oscillations and measure the frequency. 4. Analyze the oscillations of Op-Amp and Comparator circuit and compare the Op-Amp circuit with that of the Comparator circuit. 5. Capture the screenshots showing oscillating output waveforms for each of the circuits. 6. Answer the following questions: a. What is the difference between Op-Amp circuit and Comparator circuit? b. Discuss some of the issues with this Op-Amp oscillations and explain the voltage swing and cause of potential failure of this circuit. c. What makes the comparator circuit oscillate and more ideal for the applications? d. Describe the operation of the comparator oscillator circuit and explain the difference in inverting and non-inverting waveforms of the comparator e. What is the significance of using comparator circuit to achieve sinusoidal oscillations?

Assignment 4: Part D: Your Marketing Plan – Video Presentation

Due Week 10 and worth 200 points

Imagine that you are pitching your hypothetical service-based company’s marketing plan to the Shark Tank Team for possible investment. Use a tablet, smartphone, laptop, desktop, or traditional video recorder to record a three to five (3-5) minute dynamic video in which you present your full marketing plan from Assignments 1, 2, and 3.

Note: If you are using a tablet or smartphone you will need to email the video file to yourself, then save it to a computer in order to upload to Blackboard. You may want to upload your video to a file sharing service, such as Dropbox, if your email will not let you send a large video file. Dropbox is accessible from all smartphones and tablets from the Dropbox app.

Once you are ready to upload your video to Blackboard, please use the following naming convention in the popup window for your video once it is finished uploading:

  • Title: Your First Name, Your Last Name – Shark Tank Investment Video Pitch
  • Tags: MKT500, Shark Tank
  • Description: First Name, Last Name – MKT500 Assignment 4 (Date Uploaded ex. 5-23-2014)

Note: Check with your professor for any additional instructions. If you do not have access to a video camera or necessary hardware to complete this assignment, please contact your professor.

Note: If you receive an “Error while uploading” message and you are unable to upload your video file, let your instructor know right away. You can send the file in an alternate way such as sending it to your instructor’s email via a file sharing service such as Google Drive, or you can upload your video file to a video sharing service such as YouTube and then send the link to your instructor to view it from. If your video is unable to upload to any of these sources either, your computer may have insufficient bandwidth to upload video, and you should copy the file to a thumb drive and send it from a different computer or mobile device.

Tips to prepare for your video:

  • Create note cards
  • Practice in front of a mirror and / or friends
