Option 1 or two in the requirements

You should rely entirely on the course reading materials and lectures. Make sure you establish a clear thesis and defend it with references to appropriate reading. Somewhere in your first paragraph, there should be a sentence that begins: “In this paper, I will argue that . . .” or something similar. Strong papers will also consider counterarguments and defend against them. Structure your paper carefully and address the issues as directly and concisely as you can. Avoid verbosity, lengthy introductions, and irrelevancies.

When and under what conditions is it possible to mobilize people for action? Choose an example of EITHER regime change OR political violence to answer this question. Make an argument about the relative importance of the different factors that you think explain the phenomenon you chose, drawing on the cases and theories discussed in class. No matter what position you take or question you choose, be sure you make references to competing theories and how they apply to the specific country and question.

OR

What are the prospects for democracy in China? Based on what you know about democratization from the readings and lecture, provide an answer to this question. (There is no need to do extra research!) What factors would different theories point to as significant? What other information would you need about China in order to make a more definitive argument? If you were advising Chinese democrats, what (if any) lessons would you draw from existing theories and from the cases (for example Germany and Russia) we covered in class?

Planning for Successful Advocacy Campaigns

To prepare for this Discussion:

• Review the Freeman et al. article and the advocacy campaign examples “Indiana Campaign for Smoke Free Air” and “One International.” Reflect on each campaign’s plan, including elements such as goals, objectives, message, purpose, and media strategies.
• Research and select a public health advocacy campaign that is different than the provided examples. Consider your selected campaign’s plan, including elements such as goals, objectives, message, purpose, and media strategies.
• Reflect on the impact of your selected campaign on the development of health policy. Think about how the campaign’s plan contributes to the success of the advocacy campaign.
• Consider the role of advocates and public health organizations in your selected advocacy campaign.

With these thoughts in mind:

Post a brief explanation of your selected advocacy campaign (Nothing related to tobacco use or childhood obesity) including the campaign’s plan. Explain the potential impact of your selected advocacy campaign on the development of health policy. Be sure to include how the campaign plan contributes to the success of the advocacy campaign, as well as an explanation of the role of advocates and public health organizations in your selected advocacy campaign.
Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the Learning Resources.

Assessment Guidelines
Assessment Brief:
You are to write a 3,000 word (+/- 10% excluding reference list) a literature review. Select a
topic of interest which is relevant to your pathway based on one of the domains from the NHS
Outcomes Framework (2015/16) informed by the NICE Quality Standard or GP Contract
Quality and Outcomes Framework (2015/16). Formulate a research queation relating to your
area of practice, undertake a systematic literature search of relevant sources, examine and
critically evaluate the relevant evidence-based information in order to identify the clinical
practice gap and make an action plan to address them to bridge the gap, which may form part
of your background to yout project in the Evaluating and Advancing Nursing Practice module
assignment.
Module Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcome 1
Critically examine how evidence-based practice underpins their safe practice in healthcare.
Learning Outcome 2
Distinguish confidently between the different types of evidence used in nursing practice.
Learning Outcome 3
Critically evaluate the different research paradigms and approaches within evidence-based
practice, including qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Learning Outcome 4
Critically apply relevant research findings for patient benefit.
Essay structure
1. Introduction (200 words) An introduction generally need to answer these 3 questions.
a. What? The introduction must begin by clearly explaining what the essay is about.
Identify in your own words what is required in the assessment brief given above.
b. How? The second part of the introduction needs to outline how the essay is
structured. You need to summarise the details given in points 2 to 5 below.
c. Why? An introduction needs to articulate why the topic under consideration is of
significance. This should be evidence-based and supported with relevant
literature.
2. Background (500 words)
a. Briefly summarise what is already known about the topic, and how this relates to
your chosen domain from the NHS Outcomes Framework (2015/16). (Learning
Outcome 4).

b. Briefly highlight the key original research studies and guidelines related to your
topic that have been published in reputable journals/sources in your field of
practice. (Learning Outcome 2).
c. Explain and justify why the findings of the background studies indicate a need for
your review of literature. In other words, explain what already exists and the gaps
in what is known that will be answered during your review of existing literature.
(Learning outcome 1& 4).
3. Formulation of a research question (200 words)
a. Clearly explain the process you followed to formulate your question using the
PICO/SPICE framework. (Learning Outcome 3).
b. Explain the issue you are examining, its significance to your field of practice and
its relation to your chosen domain from the NHS Outcomes Framework
(2015/16). (Learning Outcome 4).
c. Clearly explain why the question you have formulated needs to be answered and
the reasons why it is important to your field of practice.
d. Clearly explain the improvements that will result from the findings of the review of
the literature. (Learning outcome 1).
4. Methodology (700 words)
a. Discuss the Literature search search strategy that you have used.
i. Search terms. Give details of the ‘terms’ you used to search for the literature.
ii. Briefly outline the type of studies that were included in your search and those
that were excluded. Give a rationale for this criteria.
iii. Sources. Identify the sources you searched. Briefly discuss the range of
materials that were observed during the search. (Learning Outcome 3).
a. Discuss the process you followed in order to identify the research papers/relevant
literature you have selected. You need to demonstrate that you have appraised
the research paper (You could use a tool such as CASP/Moule and Heck (2011)
guidelines). (Learning Outcome 3).
b. Discuss how you extracted data from your articles. Clearly discuss the tool you
used (for example, Timmins and McCabe (2005). Ensure that the data you extract
includes: research aims or hypothesis, research design, sampling, participants,
data collection methods, reliability and validity considerations, how data were
analysed, findings and their interpretations, ethical considerations and limitations
of the studies. (Learning Outcome 3).
A data extraction table needs to be included.
3
c. Discuss your approach to synthesis, for example, narrative synthesis. Give a
rationale for your approach to synthesis. (Learning outcome 3).
5. Discussion (1200 words)

personal planning

Each student must submit a personal financial plan prepared for a person or family of his/her choice.

The paper must encompass all parts of a financial plan. Each part must be addressed on a separate page or pages, both through written description in sentences and paragraphs and recommendations and relevant quantitative matters. Your writing style should be as if you were presenting it to the “client,” not to the professor.

The outline of the paper should be:
Background A brief summary of the client(s) bringing the individual(s) to life for the professor. This is the only section that should be addressed to the professor.

Summary of Your major significant recommendations generally in
recommendations a phrase or sentence for each recommendation.

Balance Sheet Evaluation plus the normal statement you should be familiar with.

Cash Flow Planning Background and recommendations plus statement including current year and next two years projected data.

Tax Planning Background and recommendations plus statement including current year and next two years projections.

Investment Background and recommendations plus overall asset allocation and Morningstar Sheet for one fund.

Risk Management Background and recommendations plus life and disability insurance needs worksheet.

Retirement Background and recommendations plus retirement planning worksheet. Anyone not performing a retirement needs analysis will receive at least one grade lower

Estate Background and recommendations.
Overall SWOT Analysis
Your grade will be based on the substance of your recommendations, your ability to capture the essence of the “clients'” goals and problems in writing, the quality of your supporting tables, and your ability to integrate the supporting tables with your descriptive material. Perhaps the most important factor will be the depth and extent of your analysis and specific recommendations. The paper will be due on the day of the final exam.

Question
Fast Carry Ltd. agrees to carry SS Ltd.’s goods on board Fast Carry Ltd.’s ship, The Angel, from London to Buffalo, USA. A bill of lading covers the contract of carriage by sea and it expressly provides that the Hague-Visby Rules shall govern the contract of carriage by sea.
The goods are stowed on deck under a mere liberty clause. On the way to Buffalo, half of the goods are washed off deck and the other half are damaged by rainwater because the tarpaulins are not placed properly over the goods though they are provided to protect the goods against rainwater.
Fast Carry Ltd. comes to you for advice regarding its liability arising from the above stated incidences under the Hague-Visby Rules. Fast Carry Ltd. also would like you to provide a critical comparison between the Hague-Visby Rules and the Hamburg Rules regarding the issue of carrier’s duties and immunities because Fast Carry Ltd. wants to know whether its position as a carrier would have been better under the Hamburg Rules.
