Students and instructor’s perceptions of blended learning in the first electronic university in the Arab world (Saudi Electronic University)

I am doing MPhil and PhD as you know I have to do an upgrade meeting If I want to transfer to PHD level.
Until now I did write around 12 thousand words I submitted it for upgrade meeting unfortunately I did not pass. The examiner gave me the suggestion and comments about my work and offering me another chance and it is the last chance for me. I am under the risk If I do not pass I have to withdraw from the program, If I could pass by meeting what they suggest I will able to work with you for more than three years until I finish from PHD .

Now I need your help to work with their suggestion and comments and write any new thing you think it is important and change or delete or reschedule any subject.

I will submit my file work which they ask me to submit it again maximum 10 thousand words.
I will submit the feedback from the examiner under the name(Upgrade report) and I will submit my supervisor feedback and comments about the examiner’s report under the name (written feedback from my supervisoer)
I will submit the latest articles related to my subject especially the definition of blended learning under the name (Articles).
I will submit the latest thesis related to my subject and you can have a look to it and it will help you for example (The Saudi culture and framework the Saudi policy and learning system.

Please have a look to it and cite the important thing and meet the request from the examiner.

My university is the first university in the world for education subject and the examiner (martin oliver) are really specialist in my topic you can have a look to his publish : https://ioe.academia.edu/MartinOliver

I also submit the articles he suggest in the report file such as :
can blended learning be redeemed

I do not you to write everything in once time what I want you to do is understand my file and report file and make a plane for what are you going to write and change and the new hidings for the chapters then I will ask my supervisor about it as I have meeting next Wednesday If he agree about your plan I will let you know then you can start.

What I am think is that the report is really helpful and guidance for upcoming work.

If you write the words that I paid for it and you think there is impotent subject or ideas let me know the I will see.

If you need any questions or clarification about any thing let me know about it.

Pro’s vs Con’s Innate or Learned

Our course textbook describes the case study of Genie. For this week’s discussion, consider this case in light of Genie’s inability, after being rescued, to fully catch-up to the enormous language growth seen in children her age not tragically isolated as she was, what do you think this implies about the existence of a sensitive period for language development? Second, let’s talk about the ethics of this situation. The work with Genie following her rescue from a childhood of brutal deprivation raised controversy regarding whether her best interests were considered foremost in decisions about who would provide her care. Share you thoughts here about that situation, including both pros and cons related to the decision about where she would reside.

Business Studies classroom climate

Research question and sub questions
Does working in a group improve the interest of the subject for the pupils?
• Do lessons where pupils work in groups improve the level of achievement for pupils over lessons where there is no or less group work?
• Do lessons where pupils work in groups improve their behaviour and engagement over lessons where there is no or less group work?

Why I have made the above choices

The classes I have been to, show more enthusiasm for the subject when working in a group rather than working individually. Younger students seem more eager to get involved when working as part of a team. Students cause disruptions when they work alone and although there are disruptions when students work as a team, it tends to be more about the subject rather than something unrelated. I will compare the levels of disruptions in classes with individual work and classes with group work. I will also ask the students questions after the class to see how they feel about working alone or as part of a team.

My aim is to get the students interested in the subject. I think this will help create a more positive classroom climate and it will also lead to improved grades.

Title of systematic review:

‘The effectiveness of high fidelity simulation on student’s anxiety and self efficacy for undergraduate students: a systematic review protocol’

Question:

What is the effectiveness of high fidelity simulation on student’s anxiety and self efficacy for undergraduate students?

Rational

• there are several systematic reviews have been conducted in recent years to investigate the use of high fidelity simulation in health care (or practical) education. Some of these reviews found that use of high fidelity simulation by undergraduate students improves knowledge acquisition, psychomotor skills, enhance student satisfaction and confidence which proposed its effectiveness as educational strategy in health care (or practical) education. However, there is a gap of knowledge for effectiveness of it on anxiety level and self efficacy students’ learner.

• The second reason is in Kingdome of Saudi Arabia the education system is totally rely on tutors unlike different countries, hence, use of high fidelity simulation in education will improve self efficacy for learner in terms of increase ability to learn.

Aim:
The aim of this study is to evaluate the overall effectiveness of high fidelity simulation using manikins in practical education on student’s anxiety and self efficacy outcomes of learning. To evaluate the potential for future curricular development using simulation as learning strategies in undergraduate education programmes in my country.

Objective:

The objective of this review is to identify the best available evidence about the effects of high fidelity simulation on student’s anxiety and improve self efficacy in undergraduate health care education.

Problems statement:
students feel fear and anxious when deal with patient in hospital and high fidelity simulation might reduce anxiety by provide high degree of reality before practice in clinical settings.
Also, faculty and preceptor’s shortage and lack of clinical settings and there is a gap between theory and practice.

Inclusion criteria:

PICO (participant, intervention, control and outcome)
All high fidelity simulation (adult, paediatric simulation)
All Undergraduate heath care student such as (nurses, midwifery, medical, physiotherapy)
Different medical care procedures
Outcomes on reduction of student’s anxiety level and improve self efficacy for undergraduate learners
Control: compare with usual learning such as lectures and others.

Study type: RCTs and non RCTs quaiz experimental and give justification why did you choose these studies

Exclusion criteria:

Not high fidelity simulation
Other language study just English language studies
Graduate students

Project in Macroeconomics for Public Policy

Project

In February 2010, just before the May General election, 20 economists wrote a letter stating: “in order to be credible, the government’s goal should be to eliminate the structural current Budget deficit over the course of a parliament, and there is a compelling case, all else being equal, for the first measures beginning to take effect in the 2010-2011 fiscal year.” The newly appointed Chancellor, Osborne, hailed their letter as a “really significant moment in the economic debate”. Shortly after the current UK government came into power in 2010, the Treasury predicted that GDP would rise by approximately 2.5% in 2012 and 2.7% in 2013. However, GDP increased by only 0.4% in 2012 and started to recover only in 2013, almost 5 years after the financial crisis. Moreover, the impact of deficit reduction measures from the Government on the public sector debt has been widely questioned.
In the light of the data and the economic debate, provide a report to the Chancellor to explain
1. Why growth is now lower than previously expected.
2. Given weaker than expected growth and heavy borrowing, what would your advice be to the Chancellor on policies to promote growth?
3. Would your recommendations be different if you were advising the Greek, Italian or French governments?

In assessing your projects, the marker will be looking for:
1. Evidence of understanding the economic principles, concepts, theories and the policy issues.
2. Addressing adequately all elements required by the question.
3. Degree of analysis and clarity of arguments.
4. Appropriate use of diagrams when necessary.
5. Appropriate style and presentation.

Style. A good project is likely to have the following (as a guide)
1. Executive summary: roughly one page, set out as bullet points. Should set out:
– the key questions
– your conclusions/recommendations.
– Doesn’t need necessarily the methodology.
– Remember that the policy maker/public may not read beyond this, so it is important to get this right. Have a look at Executive Summaries from existing government reports.
2. Introduction: this sets out the main issues and approaches to be adopted.
3. The structure of the question gives you a guide to what might be the next three sections (the main body of the report).
4. Conclusions

Content – Question 1. This section is primarily empirical.
This is where you need to provide data and graphs.
You are asked why growth (GDP) was lower than expected:
• You need to go back to the Treasury predictions for the economy when the Coalition came to power, look at GDP (and its components) then…..
• Compare them with latest predictions and outturns (available on Treasury). What did it happen? Which components are lower?
• Also look at changes in public sector borrowing figures. You can speculate WHY the components are different but this is primarily about presenting the data and so is primarily DESCRIPTIVE rather than ANALYTICAL.
• You usually get more marks for analysis than description. 40% is generous here as it is the first project.
Content – Question 2. This gets to the heart of the issue. There is no ready answer, but you have to weigh up the issues.
The key point is the relationship between growth and debt reduction. Should we delay the government’s debt reduction plan in order to stimulate the economy through fiscal policy, bearing in mind that the deficit may increase anyway because of weaker than expected growth?
You have to show you understand the different schools of thought, what they suggest about the roles of fiscal policy and the implications for policy.
The hard part is to demonstrate sufficient analytical rigour (don’t waffle), but at the same time write in a style that policy makers will understand.
To be able to do this, you need to read widely. You cannot do this properly without understanding, in depth, the issues yourself.
See how the Treasury, IMF and World Bank write for example. Look at the Krugman article.
You are not trying to be evangelical, but present the arguments fairly .
You do need to produce policy recommendations. But this section must be based on the evidence rather than your personal preferences. This is evidence-based policy. For instance, if you want to recommend more PE, what type and why?
Content – Question 3.
• This part is really about differences between countries:
– Their debt conditions– you can get data from IMF, OECD or World Bank web sites;
– Their monetary policy frameworks.
• This affects the credibility of policies and the interest rates that will have to be paid by different governments at different debt levels.
