Description: Exemplification means to provide examples about something. Writing an exemplification essay typically involves offering many examples to support a generalization about something. In this type of essay, examples act as supporting material to explain or clarify the generalization. Typically, exemplification essays are thought of as position or argument essays in which the writer assumes a particular position regarding an issue or defends an argument by using multiple examples.An exemplification essay should not be lumped under the same category of a position or argument essay, however, because many exemplification essays are not seeking to advance a position or argument, but merely to explain.

Topic:
Because we produce the best prose when we write on what we know, you are to write on some subject on which you are an expert and explain it to your audience through a variety of clear, well-chosen examples: Find a topic that is mundane and that defies the ordinary and keep it simple.
