Trade has a strong basis in the exchange of ideas, religions, technology and
disease! Understanding the role of trade in the Roman Empire is imperative to
understanding their relationship with other civilizations.
Write a 1-2 page paper examining the importance of trade for the Roman
Empire. What role did geography play in their major trade routes? What
were the ramifications of trade on the Roman Empire (i.e. religious,
political, cultural influences)? Ensure the following points are addressed.
