freeze-dried blueberry supplementation on CVD

A scientific RESEARCH literature review over freeze-dried blueberry powder supplementation (polyphenols) on cardiovascular diseases. The participants were postmenopausal women. We are looking at blood makers for Lipoprotein (a), human proprotein convertase 9/PCSK9, and uric acid at baseline, 6 weeks, and 12 weeks.

At least 30 of the required references need to be peer reviewed, research studies from reputable scientific journals.

Project

This is my final year project that requires correction based on the methodology, my supervisor said i should remove the correlation and regression analysis and use descriptive qualitative data method. He said ” Data analysis method should be critical review of secondary qualitative data” The whole send the file through email.

Managament Literature Review

Introduction to the topic
Increasing competition in traditional markets, decreasing sales margins, more complex customer needs or an extension of existing market scopes are the main drivers underlying the shift from a product-based towards a service-based business model for many business-to-business (B2B) manufacturing organisations (Paiola et al., 2012; Kindström, 2010). This “servitisation of business“ (Vandermerwe and Rada, 1988, p. 314) does not only offer new market opportunities, it also creates new challenges such as adjusted organisational strategies and structures (Raddats and Burton, 2011). Ulaga and Reinartz‘s (2011) concept of hybrid offerings acknowledge that organisations usually are not positioned at one of the two extremes product or service. They are rather positioned anywhere inbetween of this continuum, since they combine products and services in their offerings (Ulaga and Reinartz, 2011). In terms of selling solutions, it requires different capabilities such as a service culture, technical expertise and a customer-orientated attitude (Paiola et al., 2012). The shift from a product-centric business to a service-centric business also requires another kind of selling. Consultative selling focuses on solving the customer‘s problem, but also includes higher costs of selling and longer sales cycles (Sheth and Sharma, 2008; Ryals and Rackham, 2012). It inevitably includes another type of salesperson, “instead of charisma and push, salespeople will now need to understand the customer and sharpen their ability to provide excellence customer service” (Sheth and Sharma, 2008, p. 266). Networking capabilities and the capability to sell value are the main requirements of hybrid or service salespeople (Ulaga and Reinartz, 2011).
Since the selection of new salespeople and/or the development of existing salespeople within the process of servitisation has not been investigated yet, this thesis strives to contribute to the knowledge of understanding the characteristics of ideal salespeople in organisations who offer products and services. It will be therefore contribute to the academic knowledge as well as the successful transformation of organisations.
This research tries to answer the question of “How can organisations select and recruit the best-performing salespeople within hybrid B2B sales organisations?”
Structure of Lit Review
• About 50%: servitisation in general, hybrid organisations, shift from product towards service companies (why, what happens in organisations, etc)
• About 50%: the nature of B2B sales, success factors in sales – performance criteria, assessment of sales performance in B2B sales organisations (personality traits vs. Behaviour based assessment, etc.; maybe assessments in general); it should cover the Piercy paper below, role of sales in organisations who are shifting from products to services

Research paper- Game vs South Korea’s Shut Down law

This is my outline for the paper
You can change it in a better way.
It should be based on what I worte.

Motivation

Since 1995, South Korea is well known for the fact that professional gaming has a very substantial following in the country with top players earning big money prizes in World’s competitions. However, for some reasons, the South Korean national assembly passed a revision of the Juvenile Protection Act in 2011. The online game Shutdown law forces online game providers to shutdown their services for teenagers (aged 16 and under) from midnight to 6 am. This law is still applying nowadays, and I wonder how the video and online games affect children, and I think that this law will be a big obstacle for children who want to be a pro-gamer and developing E-sports.
Problem statement

1. Research the positive and negative effects of playing games.

2. The South Korean government ignores the teen’s right to play games when they want it.

3. Is playing game addiction related to crimes and damages to society?

Approach:

Research articles about how games affect to children and teens.

How do video games affect the developing brains of children and teens? Positive or negative?

Consistent play of violent video games can make a person more aggressive, antisocial, and less empathic.

How to help your children avoid online gaming addiction without damaging their right.

The Shutdown law’s side effects

Conclusions

I will pay close attention to the benefits and positive effects of playing game and how Shutdown law can damage to children and society.

NOTE: I do expect to see you use quotation and paraphrase of sources, and I do want you to introduce, in the body of your paper, where your quotations are coming from, and to enclose them with quotation marks. For example: According to Sharon Lee of Look-Look Company, in an interview on PBS’s Frontline show, “We live in an adult-centered view of the world.” And if you paraphrase information from one or more of the website links (in other words, you get information from a website and put it in your own words), please indicate where you got your information from in the body of your paper. For example: According to the About Face website, which is dedicated to combating negative images of women in advertising, about one out of every eleven advertisements has some kind of message about beauty.
THIS IS THE SAMPLE PROJECT THAT PROF GAVE US.

SAMPLE FINAL PROJECT: A CULTURAL CRITIQUE OF YOUTH CULTURE

In this essay, you are going to practice your hand at cultural critique. By “culture,” I mean “the artistic products of a society at any given moment in history,” but that is also a broad definition. For your purposes in this essay, “culture” refers to contemporary youth culture and its ideas about style and “coolness,” and also to advertising and marketing campaigns that revolve around the selling of products (clothing, food, cars, music, games, etc.) to American high school and college students. For the purposes of this essay, “culture” also refers to the different ways people on the inside and the outside of youth culture perceive its beliefs and values and modes of presentation. By “critique,” I mean “a critical judgment or assessment.” Therefore, in your “cultural critique” essay, you will demonstrate your abilities to thoughtfully analyze and critically comment upon one specific aspect of the marketing of youth culture.

It is important here to understand that when you undertake a “cultural critique,” you are not commenting upon something only to determine whether or not you “like” or “dislike” it–that is critical writing at its most simplistic, and is similar to what a movie or music reviewer does. However, even a “reviewer” has to make some kind of value judgment based upon certain criteria–in other words, the writer has to make an evaluation (“good” vs. “bad” or “entertaining” vs. “boring”) and also provide the reasoning behind that evaluation, and the same thing has to happen in your cultural critique. So, yes, a “cultural critique” involves evaluation and judgment, but it is first and foremost an “analysis”: a “taking apart” and “explaining” how, for example, the Abercrombie & Fitch website actually “works”–how is it presented to us (image-wise, text-wise, audio- and video-wise, the arrangement of all the elements, etc.), what signals and messages does it convey, what kind of “brand essence” does it present, what “world” or group does it invoke, what kind of response is it trying to trigger, how is it trying to “connect” with your needs and desires on a psychological or social level? Further, what does the website look like on the surface, and what lurks underneath–what messages are overt (obvious), and what messages are implied (hidden)? And so on and so forth. And after commenting on how the website actually “works” to display/convey itself to its niche market–high school and college students–you could evaluate and judge it on any number of levels. For example, is the advertising racist? Is it sexist? Is it successful? Is it truthful (and on what level or levels)? Is it socially harmful in any way? Is it immoral? Does it matter if it’s immoral or socially harmful?

But here’s what you really want to know about how to get started:

First, you begin with a debatable question: does ________reflect the values and motivations of my generation?
Second, How is ____advertised? (how, exactly, does the advertising actually “work,” in the ways I have outlined above, in order to connect with your age group?).
Third, articulate, with a full and detailed explanation of your reasoning, how you ultimately answer the question.
And here is how an outline of the essay might look:

An introduction providing some basic information about the company and website you will be analyzing and what the debatable question is–this is what we call the THESIS QUESTION approach, because you are going to withhold your answer to the question until the conclusion; also, I want you to spend some time in your introduction (which can be more than one paragraph) describing what you think your generation’s core values, motivations, and ambitions are (granted, this is mainly your opinion related to your own beliefs and what you see around you every day, and I know you are not a social scientist with all sorts of statistics to draw upon, but I still expect to see you take a thoughtful stab at this, and you might want to even interview your friends and fellow students, who you can then quote in your paper). You might also address the issue of what you and your friends consider to be the essential “cool” products to have.
Some background information (we call this CONTEXT) about how companies go about targeting and attempting to connect with “youth culture.”
The analysis of the ______ itself, with paragraphs built around specific points you want to make about what different aspects of ______ are actually saying/doing; keep in mind that even though your analysis needs to be objective (on one level, you’re simply reporting what you see), it is also ARGUMENTATIVE, because you ultimately want to make a value judgment (which you will get to in conclusion) about what the advertising is doing on a deeper level, and therefore, your analysis should focus upon those aspects of the advertising most relevant to your main issue.
A conclusion that indicates to your reader how you ultimately answer the question you first posed in your introduction.

Business Situation
Lack of Internal Control in the Organization

Current situation
In the organization, there has been a lack of internal control in the operations. Internal controls define and govern the responsibilities that each department of the organization has to handle. These systems outline the business operating environment, strategies, procedures and policies, communication strategies and monitoring of the organization performance.

Problem statement
Internal controls are methods and procedures that are applied to protect the legitimacy of the transactions that are made, the accuracy of the business records and the protection of business assets (Zikmund, Babin, Carr, & Griffin, 2013). As a result of the current situation whereby effective internal control has been lacking, it has been difficult to operate the business efficiently. There has been a lack of compliance with the set organization rules and regulations as well as poor business ethics. Hence, with the current situation, accomplishing the set objectives of the organization would be problematic.
Research objective
The objective of the research is to formulate measures that will ensure that there is efficient internal control within the organization. The causes of the challenge will also be researched and aspects that led to the occurrence of the issue. The research will enable the organization to institute an inclusive set of policies and procedures that will help to mitigate the problems that are caused by lack of an effective internal control.
Research questions
The research will formulate the following set of research questions:
What are the major causes of lack of internal control?
How has a lack of internal control impacted on the operations of the organization?
What strategies should be set to remedy the situation?
What are the likely outcomes of the proposed resolutions?
Hypothesis
The hypothesis that will be used in the research will be:
Hypothesis 1: Poor organization performance can be attributed to the lack of an effective internal control.
Hypothesis 2: Lack of internal control in has not had a significant impact on the performance of the organization.

Here is Unit II:
Introduction
Internal control refers to the evaluation and monitoring of the functioning of the operations within an organization. Internal controls define and govern the responsibilities that each department of the organization has to handle. These systems outline the business operating environment, strategies, procedures and policies, communication strategies and monitoring of the organization performance. Internal control is an important aspect since it allows a specific and high level of services that are provided by the management leading to the effective performance of its duties. Internal control offers crucial security to an organization regarding the credibility of its affairs. The literature review will be organized based on the basic concepts of internal control. They include the management lapse and control culture, risk identification and assessment, control activities and separation of duties and information and communication.
Management lapse and the control culture
The management board ought to have the obligation for approving and reviewing the overall policies and strategies of the organization periodically (Gatewongsa & Ussahawanitchakit, 2013). This will enable the understanding of the main risks that face the business and set tolerable levels for the risks. The organization will hence be able to take the necessary steps to identify, monitor and control the various types of risks that might inhibit the performance of the firm. Therefore, the management board is accountable for making sure that there is the establishment and maintenance of an adequate and effective internal control. According to Pfister (2009), the senior management of a firm is responsible for setting up directives to the board of directors. These includes the implementation of policies and strategies and the formulation of an efficient internal control system.

Risk recognition and assessment
Keane (2014) ascertains that the risks that could affect the achievement of an organization adversely should be identified and regularly assessed in an effective control system. The assessment that is conducted ought to cover the all the potential risks in the organization and should be revised appropriately to address any uncontrolled or new risk. The risk review process should typically focus on the review of business strategies that are aimed at maximizing the reward trade-off within different sectors of the organization (Bentley-Goode, Newton, & Thompson, 2014). The risk control process should involve determining whether the organization can control the risk or not. For the risks that can be controlled, the organization ought to determine the degree to which it needs to moderate the risks. For the uncontrollable risks, the organization needs to determine whether to reduce the concerned business activity or withdraw from the practice completely.
Control activities and segregation duties
In the organization, internal control activities necessitate being a crucial part of its operations. A suitable control structure that has control activities distinct at every business level is required for an effective control system. These activities include checking for compliance with the set policies of the organization, system authorizations and approvals and the verification of procedures and policies that are being complied with.
Information and communication
For any business to have an internal control system that is effective, there is the need to have adequate information regarding the internal financial operations and the external market conditions to improve the decision-making process. The information that is obtained should be reliable, accessible, timely, and ought to be provided in a consistent design.
In conclusion, the main objective of the project is to formulate measures that will ensure that there is an efficient internal control within the organization. The steps that can be undertaken by the organization to solve the internal control problems include, the management lapse and the control culture, risk identification and assessment, control activities and separation of duties and information and communication. Through efficient strategies that are based on these measures, the lack of internal control within the organization can be solved effectively.

Question 9 and question 10 helps the business know some of the products which should be stocked going by the market trends as well as producing feedback from the customer.

Here is Unit IV:
Sampling Design
The chosen sampling technique is purposive sampling. This sampling technique is non-probability type, meaning it does not rely on chance. It is mainly based on the judgment of the researcher based on the objectives of the study (Guarte & Barrios, 2006). In most cases, this sampling method is used when the target population is large and the researcher only needs certain identifiable characteristics. Purposive sampling will be advantageous for this study for many reasons. First, the time and cost constraints for the study will be eliminated because the participants can be quickly identified (Guarte & Barrios, 2006).
Secondly, in case some of the participants decide to abandon the study before it is done, new respondents can be easily identified as replacements. However, this sampling technique may result in biases as shall be outlined in this paper. Despite these biases, the sampling method has been identified as most suitable based on the main research objectives.
Research Objective
The research is meant to determine the perceptions of college students on online shopping platforms. Perception related surveys cover a great geographical area in order for the study to be qualified as viable. In most cases, there are characteristics of respondents to be captured, which usually require purposive sampling. Rather than leaving the sampling process to come up with a particular sample that may not be representative of the total population, the researcher is able to control this by varying the sampling parameters. Perception is also based on individual values, which are mostly influenced by their social affiliations. When such affiliations are known in advance, it is easy to pick individuals to represent them in the survey.
Population and Sampling Frame
All students in colleges form part of the population in this study. From the population, a good sample size should be obtained to ensure equal representation. The sample size also affects the credibility and viability of this study. Given that purposive sampling has been chosen for the study, the sample frame will be guided by the parameters already set by the researcher. The different parameters include age, gender, race and social class. From each category, an equal number of individuals will be chosen as study respondents.
Biases
Purposive sampling has its own biases, which are well noted by the researcher. First, there is a problem of over-representation in the case where the respondents arrived at do not actually represent all groups involved in online shopping. One group’s perception may be captured more than the others’. However, this bias will be eliminated through a thorough review of respondent representation before the study commences. Secondly, under-representation may also occur when respondents of particular groups decide to opt out of the study or do not submit responses in time.
However, this challenge will be solved through the identification of stand in respondents in case many initial ones opt out. Lastly, there is also a problem of generalization when making study conclusions (Guarte & Barrios, 2006). Given that perceptions are likely to change, the conclusions made on this particular study may not hold for long.
Conclusion
Assessing the perception of individuals will lead to the development of a suitable online shopping model. This model may be used by merchandisers to design their business units as well as their websites. Marketing of online products may also benefit from the study.\

COURSE PROJECT

Overview and Guidelines
From Understanding and Managing Diversity by Harvey and Allard.

An important part of our course is researching information on diversity and multiculturalism and its social, cultural, and ethical impact upon individual citizens, groups of people, and society at large. In the twenty-first century, Web sites are an important channel of communication between organizations and their external stakeholders. If an organization is serious about its commitment to diversity, one would expect that this would be reflected in the design, content, and graphics of the Web site. Potential employees, customers, suppliers, etc., often turn first to a Web site before initiating interaction with an organization. If diversity is really integral to the mission and values of an organization, information on diversity should be easily accessible, informative, and well integrated into the Web site.

You will select a specific company in an industry such as healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing government, education, sports, etc. Then, prepare a report on the following:
1.Evaluate how accessible diversity-related material is on this Web site. Is there a direct link from the home page? What type of results does entering the term “diversity” in a search box yield? Or, do you have to explore on your own? Sometimes searching under “careers” or “press releases” may produce some diversity-related results. On some Web sites, you will have to explore deeply into Web pages to find material related to diversity. What does this say about the organization’s commitment to diversity?
2.Evaluate the usefulness of the diversity information to potential employees, customers, and suppliers. Is the diversity material related to the organization’s business case for diversity, core values, mission, etc. the way that the organization does business? How current is the diversity-related material?
3.Evaluate the appropriateness of the photographs and graphic material that relates to diversity. Some Web sites will feature photographs of diverse employees and customers, yet not link this material to the verbal content. Some reuse the same pictures on different pages, etc.
4.Assume that you are a) a potential employee, b) a potential customer and c) a potential supplier or subcontractor. What perceptions might you have about this organization’s commitment to diversity based solely on the Web site? Looking at this Web site, do you think that it encourages or discourages diverse employees to apply for jobs in this organization? Why or why not?
5.What internal management issues can affect the prominence that diversity gets or doesn’t get on an organization’s Web site?
6.Are there any diversity awards listed on the Web site? If so, review the criteria and selection process as presented in the Allard article on awards (from the textbook) or if the award is not mentioned in that article. Evaluate the value of the award through the sponsoring organization’s Web site.
7.If you were a (female, over 55, racial minority, person with a physical challenge, gay or lesbian, etc.) job applicant and you have read an ad for job opening for which you are fully qualified. Based on your audit of the company web site what perceptions might you have of this company before you even walk in the door? Would you still apply for the job? Why or why not?
