Research paper

Topic: Research paper
Hi there, I am not looking for someone to write my paper. I want to have someone find me one internet health or nursing related article that is intended for the general public and the 6 peer reviewed research articles that either back up the article OR do not. These articles need to be within 5 years old and there are strict rules as to what kind of articles are acceptable to use. These articles must be ones that I can easily access online here in Canada and not any that I need to pay for/subscribe to. I will provide below the directions I will be following to write the paper so you can have a clear understanding as to what kind of articles these need be and what kind of information they need to provide. Thank you SO very much I appreciate your time and efforts! Please contact me if you have any questions or if you want to run by me the topic of the media/internet article you choose before starting to search for the peer reviewed articles to back it up (just to make sure it will be okay to proceed with) Here is the information below…..
A. Find an internet article (e.g. newspaper articles, magazine articles, blogs, other web articles) which targets the general public and/or a specific population of interest. This article must contain information on a researchable topic, or on a published research article.
Then….Find 6 Primary Research Studies
B. Primary Research studies will typically:
A. Mention the name of a research design (e.g. correlation, quasi-experimental, phenomenology, etc.).
B. Will have a population of interest (subjects) that are humans
C. Quantitative Articles will have statistics in their results
D. Qualitative Articles when you flip though them will use direct quotes in block form to represent their data.
 Ideally your 6 articles will be all Quantitative or all Qualitative, have similar populations, interventions, or dependent variables.
 Bonus Finds but not counted as part of your 6 Primary studies:
 Studies where the method searches literature databases (e.g. is based off a library search).
 Any article that calls itself a systematic review, an integrative review, a meta-analysis or meta-synthesis.
 Stay Away From
 Articles that just provide “information” and have no method.
Background to the Research Problem
 This might be a discussion of the prevalence of disease your subjects are dealing with. It might be the number of surgeries performed each year.
 It might be a failure of the health care system (like public funding creates waiting lists and a prioritization system needed to be developed).
 It might be mortality.
 It might be a physiological circumstance or biological reality (e.g. how does music influence the brain to cause relaxation).
 It might be a theoretical premise (e.g. Lazerus and Folkman’s model of stress and coping describe these key concepts as defining stress…)
 It might be all these things and many many more and the opening paragraphs of your 5 studies will give you hints as to what you discuss.
 You may need additional references , beyond your 5 articles, on your subjects and your topic in order to address this area well.
 Most of this information will be presented in your introductory paragraph and the paragraph that follows.
Describe your Article
 Give a very brief description of the article directed to the general public or your clinical scenario.
 If you chose a web article/blog/news article summarize the focus of the content and what inspired your further investigation into the topic
 If you chose a clinical scenario, describe what happened and how it differed from what you have been taught.
 In both options you need to AVOID first person.
Why is the problem significant/important to nursing?
 What is the nurse’s role in assessing, planning, intervening or evaluating the patient population that is the focus of your paper?
Discussion of research findings from your 5 studies: Compare and contrast
 Report on the findings of your 5 articles in a compare and contrast format.
 It is a poor strategy to deal with your articles one at a time. And there will be a significant grade discussion if you do so.
 You must address this section from the 5 primary studies you examined and these should be the only articles cited in this section. (Exception would be if you also have a systematic review, meta-analysis, meta-synthesis at your disposal).
 You may use a table as one compare and contrast method but the table must be mentioned, discussed, and described in the body of your paper with an appropriate cross reference (See Table 1).
 You should be using the discussion sections (and perhaps the results section) of your 5 articles to help you do this portion of the paper. If you have 5 quantitative studies use the discussion. If you have 5 qualitative articles, you will need to use the results and do a mini- analysis of the themes presented in all your articles.
Discussions of strengths and weaknesses of these studies
 Use the discussion section of your 5 articles. Each should have a section describing study limitations and possibly strengths.
 If all the studies in your pile have been descriptive (non-experimental), this is a failing of the body of research.
 Look for flaws in the research design. Look at what each author says are the limitations to their research study (discussion section of your 5 articles). Do all the studies or do several of the studies mention the same flaw? E.g. do they all use convenience samples?
 What are some of the good aspects of the present research? Do they all have interventions? Are those interventions any good?
Discussion of research findings from your 6 studies: Compare and contrast
 Report on the findings of your 5 articles in a compare and contrast format.
 It is a poor strategy to deal with your articles one at a time. And there will be a significant grade discussion if you do so.
 You must address this section from the 5 primary studies you examined and these should be the only articles cited in this section. (Exception would be if you also have a systematic review, meta-analysis, meta-synthesis at your disposal).

If you have 5 qualitative articles, you will need to use the results and do a mini- analysis of the themes presented in all your articles.
Compare Research Literature to the Internet Article
 How does the peer reviewed research compare to the information contained the in internet article that was the basis of inspiration for your topic?
 How does the peer reviewed research compare to real life practice as witnessed in your clinical scenario?
Nursing Implications
 This section differs from the section earlier in your paper which asks you to identify the importance of your topic to nursing.
 Now that you have completed an analysis of what information is out there in the general public (or clinical area) and what the research says is best Evidence Informed Practice, discuss what nursing needs to do next.
 If you have chosen a directly nursing focused topic and your research has been located in primarily nursing journals, you should be able to draw your content for this portion of the assignment from the discussion, or conclusion section of the articles you already have. (Nursing journals require authors to identify nursing implications as part of their discussion or conclusions).
 If you have chosen a less nursing focused topic you may need to go to the nursing literature to discover how nursing practice can change or be impacted by this issue.
Final notes:
 Papers should be 5-7 pages in length excluding title page, reference list and appendixes/tables.
 You can write the paper in any order that makes sense for your topic.

FIND THE TOPIC OF THE LITERATURE SURVEY.

FIND THE TOPIC OF THE LITERATURE SURVEY.
Students will carry out a literature survey of recent research. This will acquaint you with the various types of research pursuits in a particular domain of applied linguistics and communication and bring into focus your own research interests. At the same time, the skills acquired through this exercise will serve as a foundation for the detailed reading of the research literature you will be expected to do for your other modules. In the process of this exercise students will develop information search skills and become familiar with the formal properties of research reported in journal articles. It will also provide an opportunity for the student to develop a focused area of interest from the range of topics currently being explored in applied linguistics and communication.
In order to carry out this assignment you must define a topic of interest to serve as the focus of you survey. You are required to locate current articles from academic journals publishing research in your chosen topic area. You will inspect published articles only from the last five years. Read only the abstracts of the articles (typically provided directly after the title and authors but sometimes at the end.) Close reading of the actual articles is not necessary for this exercise. The objective is to become acquainted with the nature of research interests and domains in a particular strand of research in applied linguistics and communication rather than an understanding of the research findings. While carrying out your survey, focus on details provided in the article abstracts referring to what the object of study was and how the research was carried out. Note any technical terms which are highlighted.
One of the challenges this assignment presents is how to select representative papers from within the research area and summarize them concisely. In using electronic database searches you may initially identify a very large number of articles on your topic but you must present a snapshot of the key work in the field. Careful selection of key words for refining searches and determining a coherent set of articles will be an important step. Another challenge is to ensure that your survey presents a clear picture of the themes or issues of interest in this field of research. Therefore identify key ideas or methodological approaches that are highlighted and use these themes to present your material in a well structured and logical manner.
The written presentation of your survey will have an introduction which sets out the topic. You should include a description of the procedures used to locate articles such as selection of keywords and databases or search engines as well as any inclusion/exclusion criteria. The body of the essay will present a summary of the emerging pattern of interests reflected in the commonalties found in the literature and a synthesis that gives a picture of current research concerns in your chosen topic.
All sources must be cited in the text and referenced in the bibliography. Direct quotes must be indicated with “…” in the text, and page number of the source provided
