General Instructions:
This final project exercise will take you throughout all business research methodology steps. The exercise is based on the case study ” NCRCC:

Teeing Up a New Strategic Direction”(http://highered.mheducation.com/sites/0073373702/student_view0/cases.html). It relates to NCR Country Club

that started out as a benefit for thousands of National Cash Register employees. By the late 1990s, those employees were aging rapidly and the

core membership needed to be increased. NCRCC offers two golf courses. One is an award winning, the championship-hosting course on the PGA tour.

But it wasn’t attracting new members, especially younger families. This case is about a membership study done as part of a larger management

initiative to evaluate several strategic directions the club might take to expand its membership.
The learning/teaching strategy designed for this class aims to achieve the learning objectives/outcomes of the course by following the textbook

table of content (TOC) (which is by nature the correct way of doing a research). Each week you are going to receive instructions on how to apply

the weekly material on this final project, and you will be required to craft and submit partial final project submissions until having it done

by the week 8 of the course. This rhythm will challenge you systematically, and allow you to get a better understanding of how to apply research

to a management context.
Instructions for Week 3 FP advance:
Read the case study several times until making sure you have understood it completely. Based on the content covered in week 1, 2 and 3 of this

course, develop the following points:
1. Identify all the variables and sub-variables used in the study (by reading the case, and looking at the questions in the survey content, the

variables and sub-variables can be identified. Usually, there is one variable (with sub-variables or not) per question, for instance:
Question1:
Variable: Satisfaction
Sub variable(s): None
Question 2:
Variable: Feeling
Sub-variables: 8 sub-variables
2a (family oriented -currently-1), 2b (family oriented -should be- 2)
2c (adult-oriented -currently-1), 2d (adult-oriented -should be-2)
2e (golf/dining -currently-1), 2f (golf/dining -should be-2)
2g (gold club -currently-1), 2h (gold club -should be-2)
Question 3:
Variable: Decision to join the Club
Subvariables: 15 sub-variables
3a (new friends), 3b (relation to home), 3c (relation to work), 3d (social functions), 3e (friends/members), 3f (parents), 3g (exclusivity), 3h

(affiliation), 3i (competitive fees), 3j (private parties), 3k (reputation), 3l (dining), 3m (golf), 3n (availability), 3o (Top 100)
3. Based on the case study and the survey content, build the management-research question hierarchy, through the investigative questions stage.

Then compare your list with the measurement questions asked in the survey used in the case.
4. Based on the research design topic from chapter 6. Define (1) the purpose of the study, and (2) the nature of the study(exploratory,

descriptive, or casual). Explain why.

Week4
After reading the Chapters Measurement, Measurement scales, Questionnaires and instruments answer the questions below.
2. Below are listed some objects of varying degrees of abstraction. Suggest properties of each of these objects that can be measured by each of

the four basic types of scales. There are relatively few pure interval scales found in business research. Almost all text discussions of this

scale refer to the example of temperature scales. However, some attitude scales such as the Likert and Semantic Differential, are claimed to

approach interval characteristics. In addition, approximate interval scales can be developed from paired comparisons and rank orders of objects.

See the following A and B examples. Once, you have seen them then do the same for the object 1 shown below:
A. Store customers
Nominal – Group them by race, ethnic background, married or single status, etc.
Ordinal – Example: Rank them as very frequent buyers, frequent buyers, and infrequent buyers.
Interval – Some scale of attractiveness in which the scale is presumed to be interval (interval must be defined)
Ratio – Example: Average size of monthly purchases.
B. Voter attitudes
Nominal – Example: grouped as Republican, Democrat, Independent, and other.
Ordinal – Example: Rank of candidates in order of preference.
Interval – Likert – type scale (Likert interval must be defined)
Ratio – Example: Count of votes for various candidates in each district.
Object: 1) Consumer e-commerce attitudes. Be specific when suggesting the properties. For instance, interval/Likert, if applies, it must

describe the item with its specific scale.
3. From the “Ohio Lottery case”, studied last week (Week 3 Assignment):
a. Answer question 4.
b. Using Exhibit 11 -3 and the case questionnaires (From Exhibit OL-3 Ohio Lottery Study Sample Questions 6A, 25, and 29), match each

question to its appropriate scale type. For each scale type not represented, develop a measurement question that would be of that scale type.
4. Considering the exercise 1 of the last week (Week 3 Assignment, and Chapter 13), design a professional questionnaire to measure the content

(service quality and complaints) of the three first research questions by using the appropriate scale. (You decide a number of questions you

consider could be applicable to this c

Organizational Dynamics and Governance Response

Write a substantive response, use in text citation and references. You are to respond to the peer text. Check files Uploaded Use example

response file as an outline on how toproperly write a response.

Post a(substantive) response to the following peer response text:

In team building, discuss ways in which you develop a team and set an objective/mission, and discuss how and why you would develop a team and

what would you do at the conclusion of the mission. Why is it important to define each team member’s role and responsibility? Should all team

members be involved in all project activities, meetings, and discussions?

Peer response text

Successful leaders know how to build effective and productive teams. I would build a team based off of organizational needs and priorities.

Leaders show their employees how to effectively collaborate with each other. When employees have the right leadership they feel more empowered,

creative and proactive. It is important for a leader take the time to sit down and brainstorm with employees, this shows employees that you want

to see them succeed and that you are part of the team too. At the conclusion of a mission, I would have a meeting with my team and reflect on

what went well and what could have been done differently depending on the outcome. I would also make that a time where we can relax and have a

little fun. It is important when building a team that each member knows what is being asked of them so they understand what they need to

contribute to make the mission a success. It is also important to let an employee know if they did something wrong, they will understand what

the issue was and not make the same mistake twice. Furthermore, not all team members need to be part of a project all the time, it really

depends on the project but they should be part of meeting and discussions so they are in the loop if someone has questions and for their own

knowledge.

Keep in mind posting, should be substantive based on evidence ( concepts, ideas, evidence-based research or practice which must be

cited) and well supported with examples and details (from professional experience is acceptable, but must be substantiated with supportive

evidence and cited appropriately [citation in text and a reference list). Brief responses and personal opinions are not

appropriate .The response should meet a minimal requirement of at least a paragraph in length, A paragraph should contain at least

three (3) complete statements.

Delinquent Records

Delinquent Records
Download this Delinquent Record Report and use the data it contains to complete the following:

Part-1: Create Delinquent Record Report Table

Using Microsoft Excel, input the data from the Delinquent Record Report. Include report, column and row titles, and the monthly data.
Use Excel to calculate and automatically insert the total number of discharges for the month.
Total discharges = total inpatient discharges + total ambulatory surgeries.
Total operations = total ambulatory surgeries + total inpatient operations.
Use Excel to calculate and insert the number of delinquent records, history and physical exam reports (H & Ps), and operative reports permitted according

the Medical Staff Bylaws for each month in 20XX based on the hospital’s statistics for that month. To calculate the year’s figure, the monthly average

should be used. Therefore, have a final monthly average column and use Excel to compute the averages for all rows.
Part-2: Create Line and Bar Graphs

Using Microsoft Excel, construct both line graphs and bar graphs showing the following:
The hospital’s actual delinquent records compared to the total number of delinquent records permitted by the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations for the 12

months in 20XX (do not include the total for the year)
The hospital’s actual delinquent H & Ps compared to the total number of delinquent H & Ps permitted by the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations for the 12

months in 20XX (do not include the total for the year).
The hospital’s actual delinquent ORs compared to the total number of delinquent ORs permitted by the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations for the 12 months

in 20XX (do not include the total for the year).
Part-3: Write Narrative Analysis

In a Word document, provide a narrative analysis of the findings for the CEO.
Reference the table and use the graphs you prefer to illustrate compliance in the report.
Include in the analysis whether the hospital was in compliance with the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations in each of the three areas during each month of

the year.
Was the hospital in compliance for the whole year?
Be sure your analysis is free of spelling and grammar errors.
Submit the following to your instructor:

Post a(substantive) response to the following text:

Peer
The relationship between the employee and the employer is nearly non-existent when a union is involved because negotiation is now completed between

employer and union (Sanders & McCutcheon, 2010). This relationship allows that a union’s interest is not just one individual employee but all of its

members (Sanders & McCutcheon, 2010). One contract covers each member of the bargaining unit and a bargaining unit can consist of nurses or doctors,

but not both (Sanders & McCutcheon, 2010). A union impacts all aspects of the employment of its members, to include disciplinary actions, grievance

processes and policy, and compensation (Sanders & McCutcheon, 2010).

Pros of having or being a part of a union is that they protect its employees (Connect US, n.d.). The interests of their members include fair

compensation and safe working environments (Connet US, n.d.). Another pro is that employees may be more satisfied in the work environment which is a

benefit to the employer, meaning employee turnover is minimal (Connect US, 2010). A labor union brings benefits to include retirement benefits,

insurance for all of its employees, and even paid leave, when necessary (Connect US., 2010). The biggest positive of a union is that each employee

is protected. Each employee will be treated equally and may not be discriminated on (Connect US, 2010). Finally, having a union behind an employee

means that there is strength in numbers, which allows for collective bargaining (Connect US, 2010).

Cons of unions includes unions being monopolized and run by “cartels,” Connect US (2010, para 15). There is also the possibility that the number of

jobs available are limited due to the compensation levels (Connect US, 2010). Unions also are immune from taxation and antitrust laws (Connect US,

2010). Basically, employees can strike when an issue arises or talks are in process, causing issues with the hospital and the patients. Union dues

may be expensive and cause the employee to bring home less money than expected (Connect US, 2010). Finally, an employee’s job performance may be

influenced by the union (Connect US, 2010).

Unions provide a voice against management while allowing the focus to be on patient care and not just profits for the organization (HRF, 2015).

Collective bargaining and the mandate of providing care to patients can be reconciled when the rights of the patient and the rights of the provider

are brought together to determine ultimate focused care. Collective bargaining allows for employees to join together to negotiate issues that affect

themselves and their environment. Collective bargaining also allows needs to be met which are individualized for each bargaining unit. If collective

bargaining is handled properly, patient care can only be positively impacted.
