J.T. is a 78 year old Hmong woman. She is currently experiencing extreme shortness of breath at her home. She was alone in her home. Her neighbor noticed

her distress and called 911. J.T. is of Southern Chinese descent, on Medicare, and has lived in the U.S. for 45 years. EMS believes J.T. needs emergency

care at a hospital. The Hmong have an unfavorable regard for hospitals, believing hospitals were inhabited by spirits of people who died there (Thorburn,

Kue, Keon, & Lo, 2012).

Answer two (2) of the following questions based on your readings this week and the scenario above:

1. How does J.T.’s cultural perceptions and beliefs impact delivery of care?

RISK: Assignment Overview
Scenario: You are still a consultant for the Excellent Consulting Group. You have completed the first assignment, developing and testing a

forecasting method based on linear regression (Case 3). However, your consulting manager at ECG wants to go the next step and investigate another

forecasting method. It is important to do a thorough job for the client, and you have the expertise to analyze different forecasting methods. You

have decided to look at the sales data for client’s lottery app as a single data set and use a time series analysis, namely SES, single exponential

smoothing.

Using Excel, use the forecasted sales from Case 3 to compute the MAPE, by doing the following:
1. Calculate the MAPE for the first 12 months (assume the forecast for Month 1 – or January – is equal to January’s actual sales). Use 0.15 and 0.90

alphas.
2. Using the forecasted sales for Feb – April (taken from the Case 3 Linear Regression exercise), compute the MAPE by comparing actual sales for

each month, or Y(t) to forecasted sales, or F(t). Compare this 3-month MAPE to the two MAPE values you calculated in your SES analysis above. Use

It is useful to learn team dynamics as an observer in other situations because there is no bias on your part; you can be neutral in the

situational analysis. As part of leadership, it is up to you to have all the information before you make a decision. It can be easier to jump

in and evaluate what that team should have done, but you need to hear and see everything possible before making a decision. A leader can learn

from others; it should be an ongoing process, as there can be new leadership tactics to learn.

The Prompt–For this paper our theme is “Hollywood vs. History.” The purpose here is to compare and analyze the way Hollywood has represented one

part of history and make a claim as to it’s accuracy. Your thesis will ultimately answer this question: How does the Hollywood version compare to

the historical account?

I offered some brief tips to get you started, but you can go in a different direction with any of these as long as you are confident that you are

The Wild West: There are a ton of places to explore the Hollywood side of this subject. What was it really like?

Queen Elizabeth or any of the Tudor’s such as Henry the 8th: If you watch the films that are out there, you’ll start to discover that they often

conflict each other, not to mention their lack of historical accuracy.

Early Native Americans: Most films depict them in a fairly savage light, but is this accurate?

Vampires: There is an endless supply of vampire films to use as material. You will need to research what this legend is based on and compare it to

how well Hollywood has stuck to the story.

Pirates: Again, tons of material out there.

***An annotated bibliography (AB) is essentially a compilation of sources found when researching a topic. It contains the source listing in MLA

format and an annotation which usually includes a summary of the source and any other material your instructor assigns. It’s basically where you

record your research. The difference between an AB and a works cited page is that the WC includes only the works that you actually cite in your

paper and no annotations are included.
