Choose a topic that interests you and find an issue or problem that you would like to investigate, and then form an argument using research. Write a paper in which you ARGUE a claim about your “issue,” supporting your ideas with research. THIS ISSUE MUST MEAN SOMETHING TO YOU so I want to see your connection to it in the introduction and there you can use first-person “I” before you move into your thesis statement at the end of the paragraph.

Use one or more of the types of claims learned throughout the semester. Remember, this is your final project and final exam and it is worth the most points of any assignment (200). This essay demonstrates your final understanding of content throughout the semester and gives you a chance to show off your knowledge and critical thinking skills by
1) What you choose to use from your research process
2) your choice in what argumentative claim type(s) you use and how well it works with your choice of topic and what you want to argue, and
3) Your overall argumentative writing skills and paper writing skills

The works cited list should include at least 10 citations to support the parenthetical citations within your paper. You will be graded on the extent of your research, your description and critical analysis of the topic, the evidence you provide in support of your argument, and the clarity and quality of your writing. Your references and formatting should adhere to the rules established in the MLA Handbook.

Requirements
Length: 7- 10 pages and one page for works cited, so at least 8 pages total
Format: MLA Format.
Sources: A minimum of ten reliable sources are required including
-at least one print medium (example: book or something you can hold in your hand)
-at least one non-print medium (example: interview or website or article from Ohlone’s online library database, something you cannot hold in your hand)
– LIMITATIONS: You may only cite ONE web page, and it must be a reliable one.
FURTHER LIMITATIONS: I generally ban papers on abortion, religion, cell-phone driving or other overused themes that are plagued by biasness or used over and over at the highschool level or pre-101C. If you have a different angle on one of these topics, communicate with me. BE CREATIVE! You can write on nearly ANYTHING! Write on something that matters to YOU.
Surface: More than five spelling, punctuation, or grammatical mistakes or documentation errors found in your paper will make your grade drop below 75 automatically.

Use first person “I” to narrate my experience in my childhood. I was born Shandong China. I almost grow up in my parents’ argument. Until year 1998 my parents divorced. I seem to be very strong; actually, I am very fragile. I lack of security even if I got married, this feeling still exist. Then, thesis statement: I think the unharmonious marriage and family seriously impact children’s growth including personality, the future development direction, and view of marriage, etc.
