CONTEXT
Length: 300-400 words
Questions it should answer:
• What were you trying to find out? (What is your theme and what are your aims?)
• How have you gone about it? (What are your methods?) (EbscoHost, interviews etc)
• What is the scope of your research?
• Why is this research significant and what is it ongoing relevance?
• What is your interest in it?
• What have the constraints been?
Characteristics: You must cite all sources in this section. This needs careful organization.
LITERATURE REVIEW
Length: 1200-1500 words
Questions it answer:
• What are the debates and controversies around your theme?
• What is your evaluation of (each of) of these?
And, if useful and applicable:
• What accounts are there of its causes? What is your evaluation of each of these accounts?
• What proposals are there for alleviation/further research? What is your evaluation of these?
Characteristics: You must cite all sources in this section.
You must organize this carefully, so that each paragraph talks about an aspect or a view or a perspective of the problem. In other words this section needs to be organized into sub-topics.
STATEMENT OF POSITION
Length: 200-300 words
Questions it should answer:
• In the light of what has been presented, where are you?
• Is there anything that is missing or inadequately developed?
• What possible future developments, courses of action or further research can you see?
Characteristics: This should bring together what has been said/written and look outwards to the future.

Your paper needs to include:
• A researched introduction to provide the context of the issue.
• A researched literature review of the various viewpoints that are held about this controversy. These viewpoints must be treated critically and the connections between them must be shown.
• A statement of your own position, based on the literature review above.

Required features of this paper:
• The text of your paper, with in-text citations, but excluding the abstract and the reference list, should be approx. 2000 words in length
• In addition to the text, there needs to be a cover page, an abstract, a reference list, appendices (optional) for visual and other material, all of which should conform to a named referencing style.

Plumber Interview

 
You should choose to interview someone who has been a manager for at least 2 years and is employed full time. Please use the questions below, but feel free to add your own. Ask frequently for examples which illustrate the interviewee’s experience. When an interviewee tells you an interesting story, make sure to ask further questions so you understand how this experience is related to their work and their skills.

Take notes during the interview and then type up a 2 page summary of what you learned. Do not provide a verbatim account of the interview. Rather describe what you learned about how managers function, what helps them to do their jobs, what challenges they face. Your paper should include an introductory paragraph which describes the job and the organization of the person you interviewed and a concluding paragraph which summarizes what you learned from the interview.

Start the interview by having the individual describe their organization and their specific role briefly. Then use these questions to followup:

1. Describe a typical day at work.

2. What are the critical skills needed to be a successful manager in your line of work?

3. Who has most influenced your management style?

4. What are the most critical problems you have faced as a manager? (Including demands and constraints.)

5. Name one recent change you had to deal with at work and describe how you managed that change.

8. How is your job as a manager affected by the global economy?

Put the normal heading as you would for an essay at the top of the first page. Then center the words Annotated Bibliography followed by a colon and then the title of your chosen short story from our text book as the title of your bibliography.

 

I have already completed my annotated bibliography I have one more source that needs to be added and I have to quote from each source. With the quote requirements. I have to compare the story Harrison Bergeron from my literature book to 3 other short stories from Kurt Vonnegut. I was going to focus on the 3 short stories “EPICAC”, “All the Kings Horses”, and “Miss Temptation” And how the authors writting style has evolved or change or has not. General Instructions: in the research essay, you must demonstrate the ability to evaluate the literary merits of fiction and back up your analysis with details and quotations from the fiction, as well as quotation from literary critics. You must use at least five sources BESIDES YOUR TEXT.Although you are free to quote dictionaries, they do not count as part of your five sources. You must have at least four indirect quotes(paraphrases), three direct short quotes, and one direct long quote�all from your required five sources. Moreover, your essay must not be a mere summary of criticism in your research sources. Instead, you must take a thesis position that offers your own interpretation of the fiction and then support that interpretation with your own analysis aided by quotations from the author�s short fiction and from literary critics. Your essay should have an approximate length of 1800 words and must scrupulously adhere to MLA citation style for the documentation of all quotations, both direct and indirect; however, your works cited page does not count as part of your 1800 words. Evaluation of a Story within an Author’s Overall Works

You must analyze whether a story from our text is typical of the author’s short stories as a whole in style, theme, technique or subject matter; or whether this story marks a departure or new direction for the author. An annotated bibliography is a self-evaluation of possible research sources. Its purpose is help a scholar determine whether his or her research is of sufficient scope and quality to begin the writing stage of a research project.

Your annotated bibliography should follow the example in your e-text Little Brown Compact Handbook, eighth edition, pages 365-367. You should have at least six entries on your bibliography. Put your entries in alphabetical order as you would a Works Cited page. Each entry should have at least a 150 word paragraph describing the source and its appropriateness for your research topic. Three of your entries should describe short stories by your author that you will draw upon to compare to that author�s short story in our textbook. Three of your entries should evaluate critical articles by scholars about your chosen author�s short fiction. At least two of your critical articles should come from peer-reviewed scholarly sources.
