Research Project Proposal: Ethics and Cultural Competence

 
Draft and submit a brief proposal for your Portfolio Project. The proposal should include the following:

1. Describe the chosen cultural group (from last week’s assignment).*** I downloaded the assignment from last week to get an idea of what is needed.*** I had chosen the LGBT community***

2. Describe the purpose of your final research project paper: to do this you must first develop a research question based on an issue and/or theory you wish to explore in relation to the chosen cultural group.

3. Describe your plan for exploring the research question, issue and/or theory.

4. Describe your intended outcomes of your research – in other words, what do you hope to achieve by writing this paper? This might be centered on future career goals, answering a question you still have about the field in general, or some other direct application to practice or theory building.

5. Create an annotated bibliography of five to seven references that you might use in your paper and that are not assigned readings in this course. These sources should discuss, use, or compare and contrast traditional and culturally relevant research methods or practices.
Your reference list should include diverse authors whenever possible and the sources must have been published within the last five years UNLESS you can make case for an older source that is considered a foundational material for the field. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find your sources, including information about annotated bibliographies.

An annotated bibliography presents the bibliographic information for each resource. It provides a one-paragraph summary of the resource along with a statement about how the resource will be used in your paper. Refer to Chapter 8 in your textbook for instructions and examples regarding the creation of an annotated bibliography.

Your well-written proposal should be 2-3 pages in length and formatted according to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements.

Here is my question:
Under Illinois law, can the state stop payments on public employee pensions?
Submit an outline of your course project. Include your issue(s), preliminary version of the “rule” or short answer to the extent you have been able to identify it, and a detailed draft of your discussion section.

The discussion section should organize and structure the components of your analysis. For example, you might have a paragraph to describe each applicable statute, a paragraph for cases on point, one or more paragraphs about what the scholarly secondary sources say on your issue, and/or a paragraph about any administrative rules, regulations, codes, or other issues that apply. Use the outline to structure and set out the information that you have reviewed and analyzed in your research. You may find that there is no single, clear answer to the question you have asked, or that the answer depends upon other factors. That is fine — your job is simply to set out what you have discovered whether or not is the expected or desired outcome.

– How effective was the handling of Penkovsky? – Identify lapses and make key judgments
