Give an example from your recent work experience or a situation in the past where inter-professional collaboration was absent, or not at the level it should have been, and resulted in a potential or actual adverse patient outcome. Identify the obstacles that existed and the steps that you took to address the situation.
Reference an article that you select from a peer-reviewed nursing journal that supports your point of view on the value of inter-professional communication and collaboration to ensure safe, quality outcomes for patients.
This discussion forum posting should be 4–5 paragraphs in length.

Health Promotion Among Diverse Populations

Analyze the health status of a specific minority group. Select a minority group that is represented in the United States (examples include

American Indian/Alaskan Native, Asian American, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander).
In an essay of 750-1,000 words, compare and contrast the health status of the minority group you have selected to the national average.

Consider the cultural, socioeconomic, and sociopolitical barriers to health. How do race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and education

influence health for the minority group you have selected? Address the following in your essay:
1. What is the current health status of this minority group?
2. How is health promotion defined by this group?
3. What health disparities exist for this group?
4. Describe at least one approach using the three levels of health promotion prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary) that is

likely to be the most effective given the unique needs of the minority group you have selected. Provide an explanation of why it might be

the most effective choice.
Cite a minimum of three references in the paper.
You will find important health information regarding minority groups by exploring the following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

(CDC) links:

From Strategy to Architecture

Title
Assignment 3a: From Strategy to Architecture

Type HIT Architecture Design Drawing suitable for presentation
Description For this assignment, you will prepare an IT systems architecture drawing that relates to a defined hypothetical HIT strategy.

The hypothetical HIT strategy is: “The ABC Physician’s offices will collect, utilize, and maintain confidential customer health information into

electronic medical records using secure cloud-based servers, while ensuring compliance with all US federal regulatory requirements”. Assume that

the ABC Physician’s office has 3 physical office locations with 9 practicing doctors/nurse practitioners that serve approximately 2,500 patients

with more than 5 terabytes of digital electronic medical records.

Steps 1. Read Pearlson and Saunders (2013), Chapter 6, paying particular attention to pp.169-171. Figure 6.2 is a very basic example of

how one might present a strategy-to-architecture drawing.
2. Search the Internet using Google or some other search engine to see example images of how IT system architectures are presented.
3. There is no prescriptive way to prepare your system architecture drawing. Choose your own graphical depiction method – you can use

icons, or simple boxes. You can choose whether or not to use arrows, and/or labels above lines that connect icons or boxes.
1. Prepare a drawing of an architecture that describes the organization outlined in the Assignment Description.
2. You can use a computer program such as word PDF , etc, or you can hand draw it and use your cell phone camera to take a picture, and post

it.
3. Your delivered file type can be either a JPG or a PDF format, so it is readable by anyone else in the class.
4. Your drawing should fit onto a single 8.5×11 page.
5. Your drawing must be readable and legible. However, you should be more concerned with completeness and accuracy (see grading elements

below) than with fancy or pretty graphics..

Title
Assignment 3b: The Desktop/Network Image

Type Discussion posting of image and description.
Description For this assignment, you will take a photo or image of a desktop or network device, and describe in 250 words ,how it fits into

the HIT architecture that you presented in Assignment 3A.

Steps 1. Take a photo or capture an image of a computing resource (e.g. a phone, tablet, desktop, laptop, etc) or a network resource (a

switch, a hub, router, etc).
2. Include an accompanying 250 word (minimum) description of the imaged resource as it relates to the hypothetical system architecture you

described in Assignment 3A. Address the following in your description: (a) summary of function; (b) how critical is the device in the

architecture, e.g. if it fails, will the system go down? (c) after what period of time would you anticipate the device to need replacement,

either for failure or for replacement by a next generation device. For instance, you may present an image of a Cisco network switch, and your

summary of function might be similar to this: “This Cisco XYZ core switch is used to connect the ABC Physician Center City office location

administrative workgroup switch to the other core switches that connect with the imagery CAT scan network so that patients can be provided with

a hard copy of their scan imagery when so requested.”.

Federalism

Please respond to this question:

Federalism in the United States has evolved over the past 200 years from an arrangement where state and national government powers and responsibilities were clearly distinct and separate, to one in which the line of distinction between the two has blurred.
First, explain the clauses in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution that have allowed the expansion of national government power, how Article VI’s Supremacy Clause plays a role, and which amendment in the Bill of Rights is intended to act as a countering force to restrict such expansion.
Next, explain how the Supreme Court decisions in McCulloch v. Maryland and Gibbons v. Ogdenlegitimized Congress’ use of these clauses to expand the power of the national government.
Finally, as the main focus of your essay, analyze the impact of The New Deal upon American federalism. What is its legacy on contemporary American politics?

(1) In order to complete this assignment, it is necessary to watch a 50 minute portion of the PBS documentary on the legacy of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. SEE BELOW.
(2) Although this paper can be done using the textbook and associated resources posted in Blackboard, you are welcome to include outside research if you would like, but be very careful to avoid plagiarism and properly cite your sources.

Watch Chapters 13 through 17 (from about the 1:46:00 to 2:39:00 mark) to see what the historical foundations of “The New Deal” consisted of. See the link immediately below for the whole 4 hour video where you can select various chapters or scroll to the time noted above, or try the embedded videos:

Assignment Checklist
Definition Essay (consult syllabus for due date)
Some argumentative essays take the form of an extended definition. This form of essay is
appropriate when the idea under consideration is so controversial or historically-complex that a
few paragraphs of definition will not suffice. Indeed, getting your audience to understand and
agree with the definition is the argument. In class we will read several examples of these types of
essays and discuss when it is appropriate to write one. From these examples and discussions
you will select a term, idea or concept that you feel needs an extended, clarified or new definition.
You may use a number of techniques to develop your definition, including: personal narrative,
examples, stipulation, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, analogy, expert testimony, etc.
1. Consult Chapter 9 of your text and carefully read the sections on writing an extended
definition essay.
2. Select some key term, concept, idea or phrase that you feel require a new, revised or
extended definition in order to properly understand.
3. Try to find some specific examples of how this phrase has been used to distort or
distract public perception of the event, ideas or policies under discussion.
4. Also, search in specialized search engines such as news servers (Google News,
Yahoo News, Lexus Nexus, Topix.net, etc.) and library databases (Academic Search
Primer, American Newspapers, JSTOR, Legal Collection, Military and Government
Collection, Psychology and Behavioral Science Collection, etc).
5. Consult at least two different dictionaries to see if the definitions of your term or
phrase are present and if they differ significantly from one another.
6. The essay should be roughly organized in the following manner:
A. Introduction (1-2 paragraphs) which lays the foundation for the discussion,
discusses the methodology you will be using to evaluate the term, and introduces
the term under discussion.
B. 1-2 specific examples of the use (and misuse) of the term or phrase (3-4
paragraphs).
C. Some expert testimony and educated speculation about the significance this term
or phrase has on public perception and the deeper questions that are covered up
or avoided by it (2-3 paragraphs).
D. A conclusion where you restate your main ideas, offer alternatives for the future,
and/or speculate on the future problems that may arise if we do not change our
perceptions about the term or phrase under discussion (1-2 paragraphs).

Labor Relations

Labor Relations

One union newspaper indicated how it saved an employee’s job. The employee was in the mechanic’s classification and was discharged for refusing to

comply with management’s sudden, unilateral rule that mechanics must perform janitorial duties. Given this sketchy situation, discuss the many possible

reasons for the disciplinary action, indicating why the arbitrator might not have been convinced that management’s discipline was for a legitimate

purpose. (You are free to make and state assumptions in your answer.)

Environmental studies

Environmental studies
The essay question is: “Choose an ethical dilemma arising from an environmental issue, present moral arguments from two different perspectives in environmental ethics? Choose two from the following list: Anthropocentric, Ecocentric, Biocentric and Ecofeminist perspectives. Be sure to support your arguments with references to ethical theory and using examples.”
ALSO, a minimum of 4 articles as a reference that are under “addictional materials” and 3 other references can be a journal or ebook that is academic peer review from GOOGLE SCHOLAR: https://scholar.google.ca/. So that should be a total of 7 references altogether. Attached is the marking scheme (so you know what it is expected of the content). Please, message me if there are any questions in regards to the assignment. Thank-you very much.

U.S. Response to the Holocaust

This assignment asks you to write an 7-8 page paper on a topic of your choice within the area of Holocaust/genocide scholarship. The paper must articulate a question or problem, make an argument, and marshal relevant evidence from your secondary sources to illustrate your argument. Thus, your essay must be thesis-driven. In addition, you need to make sure to utilize at least four secondary sources from the list below.

Possible sources:
• Richard Breitman and Alan Kraut, American Refugee Policy and European Jewry, 1933-1945. Bloomington: University of Indiana Press, 1987.
• Henry Feingold, The Politics of Rescue: The Roosevelt Administration and the Holocaust, 1938-1945. United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 1980.
• W.D. Rubinstein, The Myth of Rescue. New York: Routledge, 1997.
• Peter Novick, The Holocaust in American Life. New York: Houghton Mifflin, 1999.
• Richard Breitman and Allan J. Lichtman, FDR and he Jews. Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 2013.
• David Wyman, The Abandonment of the Jews. America and the Holocaust. New York: Pantheon Books, 1984.
• Martin Gilbert, Auschwitz and the Allies, New York: Holt & Rinehart, 1981.

Assessing the response of the United States government to the persecution and eventually the mass killing of the Jews remains highly contentious. While some scholars criticize the government for suppressing knowledge about the genocide and for responding, when it did respond, “too little too late,” others have stressed the constraints of the time that limited the government’s range of actions. Trace the opposing arguments that scholars have made on the question of the United States response to the unfolding of the Holocaust.

Descartes

analytical truths. Explain how Descartes does this, additionally show how Descartes’ philosophy can relate to and support the assign works of

either Copernicus and/or Galileo. Paper should be 4 pages long doubled space, normal margins.
