Management of Information Security

Security Policy – Research Report
Security policies for organisations are vital. Your task is to write a research style report on security policies. You will need to conduct a literature review of what security policies are and from the literature develop a set of Guidelines for organisations to effectively use your chosen security policy.
Students are required to select one policy type from the following list:
 Acceptable Use Policy
 Internet Usage Policy
 E-Mail Usage Policy
 Clean Desk Policy
 Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy
 Privacy Policy
This assignment will allow you to gain an awareness of academic writing using critical analysis of the allocated policy type. You will learn about security policies in organisations and their inadequate nature. Also, this assignment will allow you to develop your research skills in finding relevant material on a particular topic and what is needed for these types of organisations and their polices so that (1) a security policy is comprehensive and relevant, (2) employees are aware of a security policy and their obligations and (3) compliance with a security policy is achieved.
A template file that must be followed will be made available on the course Study Desk.
All documents cited in your assignment (report) must list in a single alphabetical list at the end of the assignment. The following USQ Library Resources to assist you with referencing correctly using the Harvard Referencing System: Endnote Bibliography Software for managing referencing is available to you for free as a USQ Student:
