Managing Physical Security (paper 8)

 
Security is not absolute, lets start there. In spite of security’s best intentions, sometimes bad things happen. I have been the security advisor for the Newtown CT. BOE since the tragedy of 12/14/12. This comment is one I repeat as often as possible to parents and faculty when visiting

Protecting people and property from harm takes constant vigilance and dedication to the mission while periodic review of policies and procedures is a must.

Access control is the daily responsibility of each member of a security organization and its most important component.

Please describe “best practices” as it relates to setting up a plan of protection to include 1-Layers of protection 2-Natural and physical barriers 3-Psychological deterrence 5-Types of technology and define Criticality.
