Women's and gender studies

 

Each Individual/Learning Community team will select a problem(s) or opportunity (ies) related to WOMEN & LEISURE (see learning objectives). Presentations

should be creative and include active learning ideas related to women AND health, wellness, park, recreation and hospitality events and activities.

Projects must be accompanied with a short written essay with a complete Bibliography of EVERY place you gathered information AND who did what (IF you are

working in a team). Please include thoughts and reflections that relates to the course learning objectives.
Facts must be supported with citations (APA format).
A. Please include in your presentation your thoughts and reflections as related to the course learning objectives:
1. Demonstrate a basic understanding of women and their leisure and recreation pursuits from a creative, historical and cultural perspective.
2. Ability to describe leisure’s role in contributing to the quality of life of women.
3. Demonstrate an understanding of women’s leisure expression as a reflection of societal change.
4. Show awareness of the connection between leisure and recreation and positive body image in women.
5. Describe understanding of empowerment of girls and women through outdoor adventure.
6. Demonstrate competency in cross-cultural sensitivity in women’s leisure with diverse populations.

B. Presentations should be creative and include active learning AND can be presented in the form of a PowerPoint, Research poster,
C. POSTER DIMENSIONS: 36″ tall by 48″ wide (standard) or 36″ by 36″ (square). MUST INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Title, date, class, information about the topic,

pictures or graphics, etc., etc.
