The History and the Impacts of the Technology Used by the Deaf People to Make their Lives Easier

As man celebrated the invention of telephone in the late eighteenth century, there was a group of people that did not celebrate; that is the people with hearing disabilities (Ladner, 15). People who are deaf depend on the hearing family members, neighbours, friends and people of good will to help them communicate with others. In 1960s however, Robert Weitbrecht, a deaf scientist invented a teletypewriter (TTY) for the deaf (Ladner, 15). The invention enabled people with hearing disabilities to call each other directly using the devices that were fixed with acoustic couplers. Today, there are even more technological developments to aid persons with hearing disabilities to communicate more effectively.
With more technological inventions, it remains to determine how technology has impacted hearing and effective communication for persons with hearing disabilities. The proposed study delves into the history of the technology used by the deaf people to make their lives easier, and how this technology impacts on the lives of the deaf people. The topic is relevant as it highlights how the technology has been used to make life easier for persons with hearing impairments over the years. In addition, the exposition of the current topic highlights the achievements that persons with disabilities can attain if their lives are made easier via utilization of the technology.

IRAQ – History of the Modern Middle East 1453-present

essay that considers how Iraq’s unique historical developments have shaped its present condition. Specifically, your paper will answer the following question:

What two or three factors in Iraq’s struggle for full independence have most directly affected its current situation?

NOTE: This is persuasive essay in which you have a clear argument that you are making and defending. In other words, there is no one answer to this question. 4) Be sure to include a title, ideally one that reflects your thesis argument.
5) Be sure to proofread your work.
6) Dont wait until the last minutegreat ideas develop over time.
7) I am interested in your ideas, not those of other people.

The rise of Jacksonian democracy and the Democratic Party is widely hailed as the “Age of the Common Man.” Perhaps. Using the Foner text, Give Me Liberty (Chapter 10) and the documents in Chapter 11 in For the Record defend Jackson’s presidency and his positive influence on the political system or take the other position and draw up an editorial showing that his presidency was anything but the “age of the common man”.

Perhaps. But what about a states rights defense of individual rights? What about the treatment of Native
Americans? Women? African Americans? Make an argument for one or the other side of this question.

The Progressives

THESE QUESTIONS:

Who, exactly, were the Progressives? One historian writes that they “offered an impressive array of reform proposals.” Why did they do so? What was our country like during the Gilded Age? What, exactly, were these proposals and what benefit did they bring to “life in these United States?” To what extent was the nation altered by their proposals? Please explain why the U.S. did (or did not) become a “kinder, gentler nation” as a result of the Progressive movement. Finally, how do some historians assess the Progressives? What examples from the Progressive Era and from today can you provide to support or refute their arguments?
