Training and Development

Then select the class Fund of Human Resources and Mgmt and select assessment 2- Training and Development
From there please read the requirements for the paper, and the required/suggested sources needed to be used.

Write a research paper in which you address the training and development functions of a selected organization, based on information you have gathered and analyzed about the organization.

Training is one of the key elements that helps produce a competitive workforce. Training can help an organization communicate policies and procedures as well as educate employees on key processes related to their positions. Orientation, for example, can help introduce an organization to new employees. Training can take many forms, including classroom, online, and one-on-one mentoring. Though training budgets are often the first item to be reduced or eliminated during challenging economic conditions, leaders must look at the cost of not doing training. While training helps make an organization competitive, it can also help make sure an organization minimizes legal challenges.

Before beginning the assessment, complete the following:

Choose an organization to use for this assessment. It can be where you are currently employed or a company with which you are familiar. It must be an organization that is researchable, as you will need to gather and analyze information in order to complete the assessment. You may use the same organization for the other assessments in this course.
If you choose the organization where you are currently employed, please keep in mind that the analyses you make must be based on facts that can be documented rather than your personal opinion as an employee.
Research the training and development functions of your chosen organization.

Deliverable

Based on your research into the training and development functions of the organization you selected, write a research paper in which you complete the following:

Explain how the organization identifies specific training needs.
Describe the types of training methods used within the organization.
Analyze the organization’s use of resources (internal and external) to assist with training.
Identify the kinds of training the organization provides for employees. Include company-wide training, such as orientation and harassment, as well as training that is unique to this organization, such as forklift training and ERP system training.
Explain how training effectiveness is measured.
Identify ways that talent is developed within the organization. Is there a mentoring program? Leadership training? Educational opportunities?
Analyze the importance of training and development to the organization. Is it a valued service?
Analyze how the organization’s value of training and development affects its ability to attract and retain talent.

Please note: You must address all the required elements of this assessment. If details for any of the bulleted points are unavailable, research the topic and present recommendations you believe would be best for the organization, along with your supporting rationale.
Additional Requirements

Your submitted assessment should include a title page, introduction, body, conclusion, and reference page.
Be sure you support your analyses with references to at least two resources.
You should format this assessment as a research paper following APA 6th edition guidelines for both style and citing sources, making sure that you also use correct grammar and mechanics.

Be sure you answer these criteria’s as well:
-Analyzes how training needs are identified.
-Analyzes training methods.
-Evaluates the use of internal and external resources to assist with training.
-Analyzes types of training programs.
-Analyzes how training effectiveness is measured.
-Assesses the value of training and development to an organization.
-Evaluates how training and development affect the ability of an organization to attract and retain talent.

Critiquing a Change Effort

Critiquing a Change Effort
As a nurse leader, you need to have the skills and knowledge to collaborate and communicate with those who plan for and manage change. This capacity is

valuable in any health care setting and for many different types of change. Furthermore, it is essential to be able to evaluate a change effort and

determine if it is promoting improved outcomes and making a positive difference within the department or unit, or for the organization as a whole.
To prepare:
• Review Chapters 7 and 8 in the course text. Focus on the strategies for planning and implementing change in an organization, as well as the

roles of nurses, managers, and other health care professionals throughout this process.
• Reflect on a specific change that has recently occurred in your organization or one in which you have worked previously. What was the catalyst

or purpose of the change?
• How did the change affect your job and responsibilities?
• Consider the results of the change and whether or not the intended outcomes have been achieved.
• Was the change managed skillfully? Why or why not? How might the process have been improved?

Post a summary of a specific change within an organization and describe the impact of this change on your role and responsibilities. Explain the

rationale for the change, and whether or not the intended outcomes have been met. Assess the management of the change, and propose suggestions for how

the process could have been improved.

Psychology

Psychology
Sometimes You Gotta Break the Rules / Nonconformity Project 20 % of grade
Social norms are the invisible glue that keeps societies together. As implicit rules for social behavior, norms are only noticed when they are violated. This assignment asks you to do just that: Break a social norm that everyone typically obeys. See Ch 8 on Conformity, or Ch. 6 on cognitive dissonance.
You should observe a variety of social norms in action for a few days, then choose one to violate. You should break the norm several times (2-3 times, at a minimum), and in a variety of settings involving different people (i.e. not just your family members.) Examples of some norm violations are: sitting right next to a stranger in an otherwise empty movie theater; violating gender roles, such as a man wearing a dress; raising both hands simultaneously to ask a professor a question; looking at other riders rather than the floor numbers in an elevator; facing backwards in an elevator, singing out loud in public; conspicuously taking more than the maximum number of items to the grocery express check-out lane; impinging on someone’s personal space; asking a stranger to take her or his seat on the bus; being overly helpful in response to a stranger’s simple request. When possible and practical, debrief (explain your actions) with your subjects and ask them for their reactions both during and after the exercise.
It is completely acceptable to experiment with a norm breaking prosocial behavior. See chapter 11.
Here are the ground rules. First, you should not do anything illegal, unethical, dangerous, or obnoxious; pointless antics that waste other people’s time or money, or that might be threatening to others, are not allowed. Second, you should choose an actual social norm to violate; bizarre behavior is not necessarily violating a social norm. For example, taking (stealing) items from a shopper’s grocery basket is unethical (and illegal), bothersome and possibly threatening to the other. The point of the exercise is for you, as a researcher, to note others’ reactions, not merely to bring attention to yourself. If you are uncertain about your choice, test it out with a classmate and/or ask the professor.
If you like, you may do this activity with a partner. Both partners should be engaged in the norm breaking and the observation. Each student, however, must write his or her essay completely independently. Be sure to state your partner’s name at the beginning of your essay. Once again, pointless antics meant solely to bring attention to yourselves are not acceptable.
In your written paper on this project (typed; 2 full pages at a minimum), you should address these components. The paper must be an essay, not numbered or bulleted points:
1. Describe the norm you chose to break.
2. Describe the function of your norm in society, e.g. How does this norm keep human interaction
flowing smoothly?
3. Discuss how you broke the norm.
4. Describe the different settings in which you broke norm.
5. Describe the reactions of other people as you broke the norm. Did someone speak to you;
communicate displeasure through body language or gestures; ignore you, etc.?
6. Describe your feelings before, during and after you broke the norm. e.g. How difficult was it to
complete this assignment?
7. Are there cultural factors involved in your norm breaking?
Your paper must make at least two direct ties to concepts in the textbook, and you must state where in the textbook these concepts are found and give a brief definition of that concept. It is not enough to simply say,

“The norm I broke violated the unwritten rules of CONFORMITY”, for example. Dig in a little deeper and explain what social behaviors people are usually expecting. Look around in your textbook at the sections on cognitive dissonance, stereotyping and prejudice, automatic thinking and heuristics. Also consider prosocial behavior.
Recall that there is a helpful glossary in the back of the textbook. You may also wish to cite concepts & terms in the slides. You must CAPITALIZE the term or concept when you use it in your paper. Provide an APA style citation in the body of your paper, and a Reference page.

Term Paper should be at least six pages of fully-typed text, with each page double-spaced, including at least 250 words and 25-27 lines using

12 point font. It should include a title page, end notes pages, bibliography page. It should be formatted using the Chicago Manual of Style

Web Final Project

In the course of this investigation you have or will need to interview (or perhaps “interrogate”) several people to provide context for

the evidence you have collected as well as the rational for your searches .

Provide a list of people you have or will interview.

Provide a narrative description of the interview setting and the intended process, before, during and following the interview.

Explain why these stages are important to a successful interview and investigation.

For the purpose of the first part of this Project, you are still the InfoSec Specialist for the Makestuff Company. Consider this project a

continuation of the work you performed in Projects 1 and 2.

After seeing you search Mr. Yourprop’s work area and take several pieces of evidence, Ms. Maria Friend, who works in the office across the

hall, comes forward with an odd story. Ms. Friend states that she is Mr. Yourprop’s fiancé, but lately things in their relationship had

begun to sour. She produces a thumb drive she says Mr. Yourprop gave her earlier that day. She tells you Mr. Yourprop told her to “keep it

safe” and asked her to bring it home with her at the end of the day. Ms. Friend tells you she really likes her job and has no interest in

being wrapped up in whatever Mr. Yourprop has done to invite negative attention.

1. How would you package the thumb drive for shipment to the lab? Be specific as to what materials you would use, and why?

2. What would you ask the lab to look for on the submitted thumb drive, and why?

3. Are there any locations outside of Mr. Yourprop’s immediate workspace where pertinent digital evidence might be found to help with your

intellectual property theft case? Explain thoroughly.

Now, please assume a different character for the purpose of this next segment of the assessment… You are a forensic examiner at the above

mentioned Makestuff Company lab. After receiving the package from the InfoSec Specialist in the field, you sign the chain of custody form

and get set to begin your examination.

4. How would you protect this thumb drive prior to creating a forensic image for examination? Why is this protection important to your

overall case? Explain thoroughly.

5. Discuss at least three forensic examination/analysis tools that could be used by you or Makestuff Company’s other digital forensic

analysts to process/analyze the thumb drive you received (be specific), ensuring you include the manufacturer of each tool and each tool’s

capabilities.

Fortunately, the InfoSec Specialist was on his/her game, and ALSO sent you copies of several files, reported to be the source code of

“Product X”.

6. What is hashing, and how could you take advantage of it in this case to attempt to determine if Mr. Yourprop’s thumb drive contains

copies of the source code? Explain thoroughly.

You complete your laboratory examination and return the evidence, with your report, back to the InfoSec Specialist at the field office.

Now, back at the field office, the InfoSec Specialist (a.k.a., you) receives the report from the Makestuff Lab, which shows that the

complete “Product X” source code was found on Mr. Yourprop’s thumb drive. In addition, while the evidence was at the lab for examination,

you determined it is also likely that Mr. Yourprop emailed copies of the source code to his personal email address.

7. Do you recommend reporting the crime to law enforcement? Why or why not? Are private companies required to report crimes to law

enforcement?

The decision is ultimately made to report the theft to law enforcement and, using primarily the evidence you developed during your

investigation, Mr. Yourprop is brought to trial for the crime. You (as the forensic examiner from the Makestuff Lab) are qualified as an

expert witness and called to testify.

8. What is the significance of you being qualified as an expert witness? How is it different from being a simple fact witness? Explain

thoroughly.

9. While you are on the stand, the defense asks you the following question based on the fact that you write a personal blog about digital

forensics in your off-time, from which it appears you are a staunch supporter of law enforcement. “How do we know you were not just a

“police hack” in this case, choosing to report only what would help law enforcement and your company’s bottom-line in this case?”

Project Requirements:

Each questions should be answered with a minimum of 1-2 paragraphs, so do your research, be specific, be detailed, and demonstrate your

knowledge; submit your project to the assignments folder.
Answers to the above questions should be submitted in a single document (.DOC/.DOCX, .RTF, or .PDF), with answers separated so as to make

it clear which question is being answered;
The submission should have a cover page, including course number, course title, title of paper, student’s name, date of submission;
Format: 12-point font, double-space, one-inch margins;
It is mandatory that you do some research, and utilize outside resources! References page: APA citation style (see

https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01/ for help).

In regards to the number of sources, please use whatever it takes to answer the questions thoroughly.

Chapter 12

For chapter 12 you must post a total of two thought provoking discussion posts. For your first post please explain whether you believe

leader development or leadership development as more beneficial to an organization, for the second post please respond to a classmate’s

post
This post should be between 200-400 words.

discussion

Directions: Brittany is serving as interim editor of the company newsletter. She receives an article written by the company president describing, in

abstract and pompous language, the company’s goals for the coming year. Brittany thinks the article will need considerable revising to make it

readable. Attached to the president’s article are complimentary comments by two of the company vice presidents. How would you handle this situation

so that the company’s reputation is not damaged and so that the upper-level managers are not offended?

Submission: Our discussions are a valuable opportunity to have thoughtful conversations regarding a specific topic. You are required to provide a

comprehensive initial post with 3-4 well-developed paragraphs that include a topic sentence and at least 3-5 supporting sentences with additional

details, explanations, and examples. In addition, you are required to respond substantively to the initial posts of at least two other classmates.

All posts should be reflective and well written, meaning free of errors in grammar, sentence structure, and other mechanics.
