A. So, is it Karzai, the leader who is incompetent, corrupt, misguided, that is the main cause of the current troubles in Afghanistan? Is it state institutions – ineffective bureaucracy, greedy bureaucrats, underdeveloped governance structure, etc? Is it the culture, history, and tribalism? Or something else? Which one would you say is the #1 culprit for the current mess in the country?
B. It appears that pouring a lot of money from the outside has not even made a dent. Will a large scale economic assistance from the international community help Afghanistan get on its feet? Without valuable economic resources or skilled manpower, what would you suggest for its economic development?
