Please read the following note before reviewing the assignment instructions: Final Project Information…… Throughout this course, you will complete assignments that lead up to a final project. The project, titled “Consultant to the Client Organization,” is based on a scenario presented below. It may be helpful to refer back to this scenario as you complete each assignment.

Consultant to the Client Organization Fig Technologies is a global technology solutions firm with offices around the globe. Fig Technologies’ corporate headquarters is just outside Mobile, Alabama. Fig recently acquired several smaller firms in different regions to expand its products and service lines. Assimilating the processes, systems, and human capital has presented a significant challenge. The leadership has chosen to bring in an outside firm to address concerns. You are the consultant from that firm, The Solution Group. In each of the assignments in this course, you will be given a scenario to address the concern that is presented. You will be expected to develop assessment, analysis, and research in order to support your proposed solution. Often, you will be asked to present the top three solutions for the concern and support your answer. Use of course materials (textbook and required readings) and external credible materials is strongly encouraged. The scenario is not intended to have a set answer but to develop critical thinking on what can often be very emotional and opinion-based topics. Consider carefully your position and how you will support the proposed solutions.

Grading will not require simply meeting format standards and word count. It will require substantive content, research, and critical thinking. Each assignment will be a section of a comprehensive report that will be submitted to the Fig Technologies Executive Leadership Council (ELC) in written form in Unit VII. The presentation will be made in Unit VIII. Consider as you work on each assignment how it will fit into the final report that will be sent to the ELC for review. The final report will include recommendations for continued improvement regarding managing diversity in the organization. The following includes the instructions for this Write Paper Order; Assignment Subject: Fair Treatment of Ethnicities. The Executive Leadership Council (ELC) has authorized The Solution Group, (the company you work for) to assess assimilation of recent transfers into the workplace environment in the newly opened IT division of Fig Technologies in Tyler, Texas.

The Tyler IT division was aligned with its counterparts in Qatar and Germany. In an effort to assimilate the newly formed virtual teams, a contingent from each of the three offices went to the other offices for a two-month immersion. The purpose of the short-term exchange was to learn the culture, process, and systems. Some hostilities have been reported in all three offices by team members as to difficulties with the visiting team members. The ELC wants more information. Your objective is to determine how to assess the assimilation progress of workers to different people and cultures. Is there acceptance? What are possible roadblocks and obstacles (e.g., language, common terminology, customs, and work ethics)? As a consultant, how would you complete this assessment and report results? Your assignment instructions are as follows: Introduce the composition of the three 10-member teams in each of the sites. You do not need names, though you should develop an ethnically diverse team of locals and visitors from the other respective worksites and national cultures.

Explore the differences in culture, perspective, and experience of your team. Include whether the work culture in these countries is individualistic or collective. This section should be 200 words, approximately half of a page. Develop a short assessment tool in order to measure assimilation. Tools may include one of the following: a survey (no more than 10 questions), an interview (no more than 10 questions), or natural observation (approximately half of a page, including a copy of the assessment tool questions). The CSU Online Library is a great place to find information about research questions. Assessment and results: Develop a one and a half-page summary of your assessment results and how you determined these results based on the answers. The results must address the challenges of these three dynamic cultures and perspectives working together in a live, onsite, and remote environment. Also, identify the demographic data and cultures that make up the organization and how these relate to the U.S. population. Show how you will analyze and use this data in your assessment.

Present your three approaches for improving assimilation onsite. Support your approaches. This section should be approximately half of a page. Your completed homework assignment should be three to four pages in length, not counting your references page. No title page is required. The report will require you, as the hired consultant, to review briefly the cultures in play in this scenario. What would be challenges these teams might face? Work ethics, religions, systems, cognitive processes, and cultural dynamics are all factors. Important: The homework assignments in each unit will build upon each other to create the entire project. The assignments are deliberately general for you (the consultant) to have a little fun as well as possibly apply the homework assignment to a situation you face or are likely to face in your chosen career field. These assignments will also allow you to apply practical knowledge for continuous improvement in your field. You are required to use at least two outside sources for this assignment—one of which may be the textbook. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations. All references and citations used must be in APA style. This edition of Primetime spotlights three primary caregivers of one or more young children-a 63-year-old grandmother, a 36-year-old mother, and a 29-year-old father-who are hoping to beat those odds by taking part in a mentoring program for at-risk caregivers called Parent Aide. The people in this video are filmed at their worst-and also at their best as they begin to apply the new behavior-modification techniques to the children’s actions as well as their own. Reflect on your overall thoughts on the video. What were your thoughts about the 63-year-old grandmother, the 36-year-old mother, and the 29-year-old father? Think about all of the different modes of treatment used in helping children or adolescents who are victims of various forms of abuse that you’ve learned about through your readings and videos you just watched. Read and respond to two of your classmates posts. Based on what I have learned thus far, I would use a variety of interviewing techniques.

While speaking to Mrs. Brent I would use the reflecting experience technique described on page 223. I would try to relate with Mrs. Brent while she discussed how she is feeling, while also commenting on how tired she looks, since she does mention herself that she spends much of her time asleep. I would also use reflecting content. She attributes her son Gordons death to him always being “sickly”. I would repeat this idea expressed by the client in hopes that she elaborates on the matter. This might help clarify why she thinks her son died. While interviewing her I would also employ confronting, interpreting, informing and guiding techniques. She needs to know what is taking place and what was ruled to be the cause of death of her infant. I would interpret the information given on page 76, regarding her upbringing and how that might contribute to the present challenges being faced. I would offer information, only if I see that she is capable of being receptive to the information. This can be information regarding assistance for her and her children.

Finally, I would guide Mrs. Brent. She needs to know that the present condition her children are in are frowned upon and what can happen if she does not seek help or is unable/ unwilling to change. The 3 children in Mrs. Brent’s care are at risk. According to table 10.1 found on page 217, Assessing risk for child maltreatment, we see that the children fall under several risk categories. Ricky at age 5 would be considered at a more concerning risk, whereas his two younger siblings, a three-year-old and 11-month-old are considered high risk. Other risk factors include the family structure. It is clear that there is a troubled relationship between Mrs. Brent and Mr. Brent. Mrs. Brent is now a single mother, this falls under more concerning risk. Her statement regarding why her 11-month-old has no diaper points, in my view, to some type of mental health issue. Her reasoning seems unsound. Without knowing precisely what may be wrong with the mother’s mental condition, I cannot state what level of risk, if any, there is to the children under this category.

The social worker also notes several beer cans found on a kitchen counter, this can indicate substance abuse, making it a more concerning risk. As stated in our text, Mrs. Brent begins to smoke in the home with her children present, this is a safety concern for the children. Mrs. Brent is exposing them to second hand smoke. She is also not changing her son and leaving him to sit on a dirty mattress containing urine and feces. This is a high risk. Lastly, the physical condition of the home. The outside of the home is described as, “run down” with a crowded back yard. The inside of the home smelled of “garbage” and “urine”. Unfortunately, I cannot state any protective factors related to the child without more information. The mother does not tell us whether she is willing to accept and receive support. We do not know if any of the children hold above average intelligence, have easy temperaments, a healthy self-esteem, have good peer relations or hobbies of any kind.

There are also no protective factors related to the parents. There is no indication of a positive relationship between the mother and children. Also, no appropriate family structure is noted. The little mentioned about extended family leaves us with the understanding that there might not be support from them either. I think the home is not a safe environment for the children. Her oldest son should not be taking on parental responsibilities. The mother acknowledges that she sleeps a lot and indicates that she sees no reason to change her sons diaper, claiming that there is no point. Allowing the child to sit in his own excrement is detrimental to the child’s health. This leads me to think that she is unfit to parent, at least in her present state. The current home is not a safe environment for these children and should therefore be placed. I don’t have the textbook. I have my classmate’s answers, you can refer it, but do not copy it.

After reviewing Zinn’s and Schweikart’s personal assumptions, beliefs, and values as well as excerpts from their historical writing, respond to the following questions: What do you believe to be the major distinctions in their personal assumptions, beliefs, and values? Once you have explained Israel’s criminal justice system, you will discuss 1 way in which it would be beneficial to the United States criminal justice system to adopt an aspect of Israel’s criminal justice system as well as 1 way in which the United States’ system is superior to Israel. This paper will require you to demonstrate knowledge of the United States’ criminal justice system and think critically about what it does well as well as how it could be improved. You should thus explain an aspect of the U.S. system that needs reform, and how Israel’s system would improve ours, as well as an aspect of the U.S. system that is already better than that of Israel.

Determining an aspect of the U.S. system that is better and one that is worse is subjective, thus you are free to argue any points of which system is better, and why you think that system is better. This paper should be written persuasively in order to convince me that Israel does something better or worse than the United States, and how. However, you must supply sources to justify your opinions. This paper should be a minimum of 8 full, double spaced pages, typed in 12 point font with 1” margins. You must include at least 4 academic sources (books, journal articles) and at least 2 non-academic sources (newspaper stories, media accounts, etc.). You also must include an APA formatted list of your references; your reference page does not count toward the page minimum.

Applying supply and demand: real world example Find a news article on the Internet that implicitly describes a shift in the supply curve or in the demand curve. The article must be recent (within the last six months), and MUST NOT be from an encyclopedia or reference website that discusses demand and supply. DO NOT use blogs. Use well established business web sites or industry specific web sites. Do not select articles whose titles directly imply which graph to use. For example, titles including words like “surge in demand”, “demand increase”, “supply decrease”, “less production”, “short supply”, “weak demand”, etc., are not appropriate articles. The best articles are about changes in the price and/or sales of a particular product.

You then have the opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of supply and demand shifts as you explain the changes in price and quantity experienced by the product you choose. RECOMMENDATION: READ THE SAMPLE PROJECT: Under the Start Here link. Summarize the article. (Do not quote the article, but explain it as if you were telling someone about it. If you do use direct quotes or paraphrases, remember that citations and references are required.) Explain which graph in our collection – A, B, C, or D – illustrates the shift that you identify by describing the change in price and the change in equilibrium quantity (remember the difference between a change in quantity and a change in the position of the curve – these are described in the documents linked above). Some articles may describe a situation where both curves shift. This is not common but it is possible. Do use paragraphs in your post. And do remain focused on what is in the article.
