Research Paper: To prepare a research paper of approximately 3000 words (not fewer than 12 full pages – 15 full pages (maximum) on a topic, which deals with a contemporary issue regarding law and ethics. Paper must be supported by at least two law journal articles (Please highlight so I can identify). I please try to find 2-3 law review articles through Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw that gives you some caselaw and background. (INPORTANT) All the information cited needs to from credible sources, such as peer-reviewed journals, government websites, and non-profit foundations.
(Important) The paper will be typed, double-spaced and prepared in accordance with style and format guidelines of the APA Manual. In addition, the writer must prepare a synopsis of 2 pages, which summarizes the major findings, conclusions and recommendations of the paper.
The research paper will be graded and evaluated on its form (graduate level attention to grammar, spelling and appearance; adherence to APA format guidelines); content (quality of research; adequacy of documentation; originality of thought; depth of analysis); and context (logic of organization, discussion and arguments; clarity of expression). The paper should contain the following features, however you do not have to use these specific headings. I recommend you use relevant headings and subheadings to facilitate flow for the reader:
I. INTRODUCTION — Identify topic, its relevance and importance; define purpose and objectives of the paper.
II. DISCUSSION — Review of the literature, discussing key aspects of the issue; what is known and not known; summary of consensus or of major diversity of opinion; analysis of present trends and their future implications.
III. CONCLUSION — Summary of significant findings; your conclusions as to strategic implications for the future; your recommendations as to present management actions needed to influence future strategic outcomes.
