Persuing a Masters in Nursing Education with the path of becoming a Clinical Nurse Educator.

This paper discusses masters level competencies described by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Quality, Safety Education for Nursing (QSEN), and the National League for Nursing (NLN), factors in nursing and healthcare that necessitate achievement of these competencies, the evidence that supports it, and how they relate to your education and career path.
The paper should include 9-11 pages of content (excluding title page and reference list), 8 references*, including at least one non-nursing reference, and address all of the following criteria.

Note: *Scholarly literature (including scholarly articles, white papers, and scholarly websites) integrated within the Masters Competencies paper should come from the most current nursing or related literature (published no more than 5 years ago); however, older works may be included if it is a seminal source or where there is a gap in the literature. Be sure to include a minimum of eight (8) pieces of scholarly literature in your paper. At least one (1) reference used within the Masters Competencies paper should come from a discipline outside nursing.

1. Competencies (approximately 2-3 pages) 25%
Select 1 competency from each of these organizations: AACN, QSEN, and NLN (a total of 3). These competencies will form the basis of your paper. Each area needs to have supporting literature.
• Discuss the Selected Competencies
o Define the key terms and concepts related to the competencies.
o Identify a theoretical basis for each competency (if applicable).
2. Factors Shaping Competencies (approximately 2-3 pages) 30%
Discuss the role of nursing and healthcare in shaping these competencies. Each area needs to have supporting literature.
Nursing’s Role
o Describe nursing’s role in the achievement of this competency.
o Discuss how the competencies address nursing’s professional value and standards.
o Address how masters level nurses function as a member of the interprofessional team in the achievement of this competency.
Healthcare Environment
o Describe how the current healthcare environment influences the achievement of this competency.
3. Application of Competencies (approximately 2-3 pages) 25%
In this portion of the paper you should relate the chosen competencies to your own career trajectory.
Discuss how you plan to achieve the knowledge and skills necessary during your graduate studies to master each of these competencies.
Relate these competencies to the concepts of scholarship, the spirit of inquiry, and the commitment to lifelong learning.
Conclusion (less than a page). Present a brief and succinct description of the key elements of the paper. (Graded through organization, writing style, grammar, usage, mechanics, and formatting)
4. Integration of Evidence and Theory 10%
h. Integrate credible, relevant sources to support ideas appropriate for the assignment.
i. Consistently use information in ways that are true to original context. Always distinguish between own ideas or common knowledge and ideas requiring attribution.
j. Scholarly articles integrated within the paper meet the following standards:

o Provide the required number of references (minimum of 8)
o Most nursing-specific or nursing-related
o Provide the required number of references from a discipline outside nursing (minimum of 1).
o Published within 5 years OR published beyond 5 years if seminal source or gap in the literature
5. Organization, writing style, grammar, usage, mechanics, formatting, and length. 10%
Follow APA Guidelines for title page, abstract, headings and subheadings, citations, and references.

The presentation and style of the paper are consistent with scholarly work and reflect use of APA format (6th ed.) Page Limit: 9-11 pages
• Use clear structure as outlined in the assignment with all components present, including brief and succinct abstract, introduction, and conclusion.
• Use straightforward, clear, concise, nearly error-free language that conveys meaning to readers.
• Conform to APA formatting standards, with only minor deviations.
